Skinner using Adbot to shakedown DUmmies

I hit up quite a few threads looking for material for The DUmpster, and as always, checked Adbot for any wise words it may have.  Most of the time (all but once), I got this:



Obviously, the robot isn't intimidating to a normal person, although some of the DUmmies are probably freaked out about the red eyes.  What the robot seems to be saying is, "Skinner needs vacation money- so if you pay up, and you won't have to see me taunting you with fodder for The DUmpster for a year." 

I suspect that pretty soon the Adbot I have grown to love will be back, the robot will be gone, and soon after Skinner flicks his wrist and the DUmmies get a taste of the Adbot whip again, he'll be making fat stacks of cash.

Hmmm.. What is this falls getaway?  10 days in historic Turkey?       Following the trail of the bros. Grimm in Bavaria?   The five day trip to Russia where you get to go up in a jet fighter to the edge of space for 45 minutes?

I dunno if you were around during AdBot's heyday madam, maybe a little more than two years ago.

Anyway, it was set up so that the advertisements would reflect the most-commonly discussed topic on each thread.

Republicans and conservatives were discusse--er, defamed, a great deal by the primitives at the time, and so the sorting-machine for the advertisements would select a Republican or conservative candidate or issue or web-site.

There were lots and lots of Republican fund-raisers advertised by AdBot on Skins's island.

Alas, after about a year of that merriment, my fellow alum got google to fine-tune AdBot, so that pro-Republican, pro-conservative, advertisements wouldn't be used.

But it was fun while it lasted.  It drove the primitives nuts.

Those were good times.  Every now and then, AdBot still comes out with something incredibly appropriate for the primitives--and they don't know it at the time, or it really pisses them off.
