I remember in early May when Republicans said they were going to pin high gas prices on Obama

Oil was $113 a barrel at the time. They were saying we were heading towards $5 gas. They were screaming "why won't Obama do something?"

Now it is at $78 and dropping.

This has NOTHING to do with supply and demand. There is no way that demand is down 40% or supply is up 40% in 3 months.

And by the way... Obama will get no credit for the sub $3 gas that ia coming .... but he'd get blame if it goes up before the election.

I seem to recall Bush getting the blame for gas prices in 2008 being so high then later that year I don't recall the DUmmies giving him credit when they fell to $1.87 a gallon.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Uh huh.

I remember that well.

But whether fairly or unfairly, whoever's president takes the rap for high gasoline prices.

That's an immutable, iron-clad, rock-hard solid fact; the president takes the rap.

The primitives can shove that up their rectal apertures and smoke it.

They still blame Bush.

They still blame Bush.

Of course; the primitives live in a fantasy world.

But if I were a primitive, rather than doing that, I'd try to figure out ways of "spinning" the gasoline prices so that the Barackalypse doesn't take so much blame for them in 2012.....which he inevitably must.

I wouldn't spend my time whining; I'd spend my time planning a response.

That's why I like living here in the east.  Prices here in VA are currently $3.39/gal., $3.75 for diesel.

However isn't it strange that a few yrs ago when oil was 120+ a barrel gas wasn't as high as it is now.

More like $3.65 for regular right now in Hampton Roads. Prices dropped for a little while but they seem to be creeping up again.

Dear DUmmies,

Remember what gas prices looked like in 2008?

Now compare that to what they look like over the past, say, six to nine months.  Notice anything?

In 2008, it was a relatively rapid spike (yes, higher than 2011), but also came down rather quickly.  Now, they went high, and they STAYED THERE.  We're less than 20 cents a gallon here off our highs from April/May.

http://gasbuddy.com/gb_retail_price_chart.aspx

Go ahead, DUmmies--play with the chart.  Compare.  See that big huge drop in 2008?  Crude was barely $30/bbl on 1/20/09.  The only reason it's down to "just" $83/bbl is because the markets have taken a giant shit.  Last week it was close to $95-100/bbl.

Or put it another way, something you can understand: When Obumbles took office, your shitbox could be filled up for the price of 3 bongloads and a bag of Cheetos.  Today, that same shitbox requires 8 bongloads and 3 bags of Cheetos.

Now that's math they can understand, Sparky!

We're at $3.81.  Been stuck right around there for it seems like forever.  A $60 fillup is a big bite out of a lot of people's budgets, mine included.

It looks like gas has been on a steady rise since January, 2009.  Did something happen then?  :fuelfire:

Pin high gas prices on you?

All you "pinheads" kept yammering about was how we needed to choke-off production and raise taxes to crushing levels.

Why wouldn't you step up and proudly declare, "See! With our policies we got you to drive less. Aren't we awesome?"
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

8. Exactly.

No President should ever get too much credit or too much blame for gas prices. I doubt anyone here was blaming ChimpyMcbushhitler for high gas prices when they went over $4.00. No one here that I've read is that ignorant.

But the freepers will continue on to blame Obama for anything, purely because of partisanship and hatred. Of course there would be no credit for Obama if prices went under $2.00.

That's why I love it here, you won't find that kind of seething hatred no matter what DUmbass rethuglikkkan is president.

Ha.  PIA even snuck 'DUmbass' in there.

At $85/BBL, it's not going below $3 at the pump, and both prices will rise quickly if the economy starts showing even a detectable pulse.

Whoops--DUmmies spoke too soon.  Oil back above $82/bbl, up $3 yesterday.

Or in DUmmy currency, back to 8 bongloads and 3 bags of Cheetos to fill up the shitbox.

Hey, repubic party, teabagger, teajihadist, NAZI, fascist, cancervative supporter, 44% of AMERICA still blame the BuSHITler Jr (SHBUH, Sieg Heil Be Upon Him) for America's problems, while 15% Blame Obma (source NYT/CBS Poll, dated early August 2011).

America MUST blame the BuSHITler Jr (SHBUH) for AT LEAST the next 32 years, then America can STILL blame the repubic party, teabaggers, teajihadists, NAZIs, fascists, cancervatives.
