But I do have one thing to offer to sane Democrats who are being bothered by trolls and disruptors that you see here in DU. Remember 8 years ago, we all shared one purpose - to see Democratic ideals and true Democratic platform being offered, but not the right-wing DLC and Blue Dogs. I found such a comfortable community, and if you were a member of that community but did not like the rancor - it has changed. Now, I will reveal to you what the Democratic Underground administrator and moderators DO not want you to know:

The Old Elm Tree

Run by banned DU'ers that you thought was long gone a long time ago, but have found new homes
Since the administrator does not want you to know about the Old Elm Tree, it's important that you spread the word as much as possible. We are trying to fight back against the trolls, disruptors, and Republicans that has long infiltrated Democratic Underground.

Just remember - The Democratic Underground of 2011 is not the same Democratic Underground of 2001. It's gone in the dark, and I IMPLORE you to take a step back and look at us, and compare to DU.

  No comparison whatsoever.  OET is dry as dust, dull as dirt.  The threads consist of some guy copying and pasting some article, with no comments to follow.  The DUmp is a lunatic asylum, on the other hand, with drooling, shrieking idiots, entertaining us all day long.

It's even worse. People tombstoned at the DUmp fall into two categories, most are moles who may very well be decent and civilized people, the others are so obnoxious and mentally unstable that they're rejected even by Skimmer's lunatic asylum. The second group ends up at Crazy Andrea's place.

Unfortunately, Crazy Andrea's little band of tombstoned smug snots are so self-absorbed, they usually confine themselves to their own OPs. A "red hot" thread at OET will have three or four replies, 12 hours apart. It's rare for one of the smug snots to even read someone else's thread.

That would be a blistering pace for OET.  I agree with everyone's comments about the total self-absorption of the posters, it's like they want to be bloggers (With disabled comments) but are too lazy to set up a site of their own.

That's exactly right, they respond to their own OP's.  It's very bizarre.  I went over for a minute to see if I could see anything interesting to bring over.  Nothing.  They do have a jobs board.  The OP is Andrea laying out the rules.  Two more replies, saying "good luck, this will be a great way to network!"  The last posted on 7/18/2010.
