Dummies discuss driving

Driving

OK this is something that the dummies and us might actually agree on. Now that is freaking scary!  I'm surprised they didn't try to say that conservatives are road assholes.

You are the driver

Edited on Fri Jul-01-11 07:48 PM by HysteryDiagnosis
who pulls out of a driveway or side street so that you can bring my speed from 45 down to 15 or so even though you can plainly see there is no one behind me for a half mile or better....

You are the driver who pulls out in front of people only to creep at 25mph or so for a tenth of a mile or better and then speed up to the accepted speed for the roadway you are on, you manage to slow the person down behind you even though you had no reason to...

You are the driver who pulls up into my blind spot in the LH lane on the thruway and stays there even though you were advancing on me by at least a ten mph margin for miles.... you pace me and you have no reason whatsoever to...

You are the driver who sees me closing on a car in the RH lane... you are bound to pass me up if you maintain the speed you have been driving for miles.... when you get to round about my blind spot you begin your pacing... and you force me to jam on the brakes, lose my cruise and utter several choice words on your behalf... you are that driver.

You are the driver I try to avoid, you are the driver I try not to be.

Damn... this dummy must drive the same route to work I do!

6. As the driver of an 80,000 lb 18-wheeler, I'd like to add:

My turn signals ARE NOT REQUESTS. They ARE NOT WISHES. They are statements, nay, promises. Ignore them at your peril. Speeding up in order to pass me after I've turned my turn signals on will not deter me from changing lanes once the initial need for me to do so becomes an urgent necessity.

I don't change lanes for no reason at all, and I certainly don't change lanes in order to slow you down. But if you think I'm going to jeopardize my own life or that of someone entering the roadway or stopped in front of me in order to save you a second or two, you need to think again.

So if you feel the need to keep me from doing what I've signalled you I'm about to do in order to pass me so you can save a second or two, know this: You Are Taking Your Own Life In Your Own Hands By Doing So.

Road nazi!!!

11. I can stop my fully loaded 75 ft tractor/trailer combo weighing 80,000 lbs, on a DIME.
Provided I can see that dime from 600 feet away at 65 mph.

I wish people were more educated about the physics of moving vehicles. I'd like my company to paint on the right side of all it's trailers

This Blind Spot's For You

Road nazi. BTW... why are you driving a truck? I thought ya all was the smartest folks on the internet.

I have the utmost respect for vehicles that size.

Actually it's more like fear.

Me too. They are bigger than me so I give them a wiiide berth.

10. You are the driver that slows sharply at the end of the on-ramp

You are the driver that thinks merging at -25mpg highway speed is right and proper.

You are the driver that turns right on red, forcing me to slow down to leave an adequate safety cushion... then only slowly wanders up to the speed limit.

You are the driver cruising at or below the speed limit... then runs the light just after it turns red.

You are the driver trying to turn left on a city street, but stay a yard or two away from the double-yellow line so I can't move around you, but instead have to bring myself (and everybody else) to an unnecessary halt.

Damn! Another Dummie that drives the same route I do.

22. Speaking of right hand turns...

I always feel like slapping people who absolutely HAVE to pull over to the left to make a right hand turn. In little cars. Like they're driving 18 wheelers.

I drive a Ford Escape. I can make a right hand turn in the actual right hand lane without going over the curb, FGS.

Amen.  Same deal on a left hand turn. I sideswiped an idiot a few years back when I was passing them and they did that and I couldn't get over due to a semi on the right. The kicker was, there was no reason for this jerk to do it... and it was officially my fault. I ever see the jerk again, I'll break his jaw.

12. you think they are fun to deal with...

in a car- try it on a motorcycle. You forgot one- the guy that drives slow, and when you try to pass them they speed up so you can't. Hammer through the windshield is too good for them.

Or they wanna make a left turn 20 miles up the road and stay in the left lane driving 20 miles under the speed limit... until you get to a stop light and when it turns green you try to beat them out of the hole and all of a sudden they think they are on the drag strip.

17. And I am the driver who looks out for you.

We look out for drivers like you.

I'm a truck driver.

Just today, I avoided a fast-lane changer just like you. Someone who has a self-guaranteed right to drive as fast as possible, simply because you believe you have the right to be so full of yourself and your superiority complex that you can play high-speed switch-lane chicane safely.

I drive for my income. My job depends on it. You drive at your own discretion, and by your own admission, not well.

Get real.

I knew someone with a superiority complex would show up sooner or later. And here I thought dummies were all edumacated and driving trucks were for ignorant tea baggers.

23. You are the driver

that speeds up in order to prevent me from merging into traffic.

You are the driver that drives over the speed limit on the shoulder of the highway to pass me on the right.

You are the driver that requires three lanes to weave your way forward 10 mph over the speed limit because you are surfing the internet, texting, talking on your cell phone or programing your GPS.

You are the driver that thinks the road belongs to you and you alone.

What goes around comes around. May you have to deal with drivers just like you.

This dummie must drive on my route to work too.

I have seen a good number of the things they are bitching about on a daily basis. Most of the offenders have obama stickers plastered all over their cars.

Bad drivers are from coast to coast.

My pet peeve, slow driving in the left lane.

Two-car accidents, in nearly every case, could have been prevented by either driver.

"Fault" is for legal and insurance consideration. It usually only has a little to do with whether or not there's a wreck.

You're a dangerous menace if you don't drive with the assumption that every other driver on the road is drunk and suicidal.

Close to my pet peeve.  Driving in the left lane, period.  The left lane is for passing not driving.  Make your pass then please move over.

If I have an open left lane, I'm passing everybody.  :-)

I've got one. The idiot on the interstate who sees a "RIGHT/LEFT LANE CLOSED AHEAD" sign, and instead of going ahead and slowing down and merging, hits the gas and runs all the way down to the choke point before they elbow their way back into the open lane. Of course people behind the idiot have to hit their brakes and with a regular stream of people doing this it creates a chain reaction that slows everyone down to a crawl. Most of the time you see traffic backed up at an interstate construction zone it's because of this.

I love it when a couple 18-wheelers get side-by-side to block those DUmbasses from zooming down to the choke point.

When I went on the road with my dad, all of them got on the CB to plan their block in those areas.  It was fun to pass those cars as they sat there, stuck and frustrated.
