It's 80 degrees here with a bright blue sky, puffy clouds here and there, and no discernible humidity.

And eight weeks from now, you'll be shovelling snow and scraping ice from your windshield.

98 is hot?

Pussies.

98 is way, way too hot. I think it really comes down to what you're used to. I'm used to 80 in the summer so I'm fine with it but I hate anything over 90. Plus I've never been somewhere that was 98.

It's 75 here in Chicago right now.  We had lots of rain and some hail last night.  At ORD (that's O'Hare for Frank), it's 83.  Living close to the  lake helps cool things down a bit.
I love that summers are generally cooler here than back home in Texas, but boy,  the humidity is a killer.  I don't think I'll ever get used to it.

TOTs - sorry to hear about the high temps in big D.  When I go home to visit, I'm always thankful for strong air conditioners and covered parking :).

You get used to it. I prefer it over -48 like it was in Fairbanks last time I was there.

A 100 degree day in Charleston, S.C. with humidity so high you have to swim through it......now we're talking "HOT".

To be honest, I'd prefer it that way. In the North, I could always dress to be comfortable during the frigid winters, and summers were great.

In red state hell, with mid-90s in both Fahrenheit and humidity, you can't be comfortable outdoors unless you're in water at least up to your neck.
It's easy to understand why this place was a primitive backwater until the advent of air conditioning.

It's a big reason why we're still here.  You can always put more on.  There's a societial, and legal, limit to how much you can take off.

You take off too much. Try covering up in thin white 100% cotton. Sweat is a good thing if it can evaporate from 100% cotton cloth and not just drip off your skin.

I'd take your 105 and dry heat.  I just went out for lunch, and it is currently 96, feels like 104, "only" 44% humidity.

Then you should come to Las Vegas.  It's going to be 112 tomorrow and 109 on Sunday.  All dry heat, of course.

I love you Canadians.

For some reason, you all come to Las Vegas for a vacation in the summer.  Then you (not you, of course, but the Canadians that come here) complain because it's 95 degrees.  So when they complain, I tell them they haven't see anything yet because we'd be hitting triple digits during their stay.  If the heat bugs you, don't come to Las Vegas in July.

Okay, so "PDX" is Portland, Oregon.

Pretentious primitive, the "Viva_la_Revolting" primitive, thinking it's so smart, so cool, so hip, calling Portland and the surrounding area "PDX".

A good piece of writing doesn't demand that one consult google all the time to find out what's being said.

He used a airport code? That is even more assinie that using a area code for a place. It must not be easy to keep up with all the cool speak.

Don't go wearing that cotton in winter up here, though . . . :o

If I remember right, didn't Obama say that we Americans were wrong to set our thermostats at 72%... did we think the rest of the world would be OK with that? Not an exact quote, but I remember thinking who the He** ASKED the rest of the world anyways?

Hearing the DUmp monkeys whine about the heat, harkins me back to the golden moment. Democrats should rise up and turn OFF the AC, and lead by example for the first time in their lives.

That Obama quote would make a good you-tube to favorite.

Well, I don't know what the summer temp is in the Whitehouse but in winter it's 82 degrees because Obama likes it hot.
