Macho Man Randy Savage died Friday morning in Florida after suffering a heart attack at the wheel, crossing the median and crashing his Jeep Wrangler into a tree. The former pro wrestling star was 58.

Second wife Lynn Payne was a passenger during the crash and suffered minor injuries, Florida Highway Patrol told TMZ, which first reported the news. Wrestler Lanny Poffo confirmed the death of his brother, born Randall Mario Poffo, to the website.

I saw this earlier. He and Junkyard Dog were my favorites growing up and now they have both passed.

Pro wrestling superstar Randy "Macho Man" Savage died after having a heart attack while driving his Jeep Wrangler, Fox News confirms.

The accident happened in Seminole, Fla.

A source tells Fox News that he "suffered a heart attack while driving and hit a tree."

Florida Highway Patrol said Savage, 58, leapt a concrete median, veered into oncoming traffic and smashed into a tree head on.

He died from his injuries at largo Medical Center.

Yeah, I saw this earlier today. I follow the WWE type sites/forums pretty closely. Shocked the hell out of me to tell you the truth. R.I.P, Macho Man. :(

Lots of stories out on the web about how much of a true professional of his craft he was and how different he was out of character.  Loved the showmanship and athleticism of the "Macho Man".

He was great! An awesome showman. Bret "Hitman" Hart was my favorite (probably still my favorite of all time) but Macho Man and Jimmy Superfly Snooka were very close seconds. Monday night raw did a pretty decent tribute to him last week.
