Remember Wisconsin and the PEUs?

Supposedly unilaterally declaring public employees had to contribute more to their pensions was fascist or something.

Worse, denying those public employees the right to collectively bargain about the fact was akin to terror attacks...or something.

So what's this then:

Quote
Administration officials have expressed interest in raising the amount that federal employees contribute to their pensions, sources told The Washington Post.

Golly, why would they do that?

Cuz:

Quote
Geithner’s plan to tap federal retiree programs as a temporary means to avoid a government default comes as the Obama administration has shown growing interest in altering those programs to curb the debt in the long run.

Your Chip Diller moment of the day comes as we are assure the government restrained by law from taking the money and running:

Quote
The measure won’t have an impact on retirees because the Treasury is legally required to reimburse the program.

Yes, because the government has a long history of restraining itself.

It should be pointed out that federal employees are not to collectively bargain or go on strike.

So Obama has dispensed with arguing which policies are best for the nation. He has capitulated on the argument for America's soul and has instead simply decided to seize whatever he needs to do whatever he wants.

According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Sounds like the same deal that they used to pillage Social Security. It's just another way to spend money that they don't have.  Doesn't this go against the government requirement that the USPS totally keep their pension fully funded?
