it was worth crap trying to go anywhere in the winter. I had trouble in the snow if it was deeper than 2".
A silly question... did you try snow tires?

I have no experience with snow tires.  Maybe if I had bought some last year, my Datsun would still be running. :(

I can't tell you what cars attract women, but I can tell you what the cars I own attract:

MGB: Young women, drunk 20 something guys, and old men who wear wool sport jackets, and typically smell on pipe tobacco and cough syrup.

Volvo 240:  Old women who have way too many cats.  I've had a lot less customers on this one, after I slapped a few bumper stickers on it.

Volvo 850:  Ricers, and guys in pickup trucks wanting to race.

240Z:  People of both sexes and all ages seem to like this car; sort of an all-star.

Dodge D100 Sweptline:  Guys with beards, and girls in tank tops.  Or, maybe I just hang around guys with beards, and girls that wear tank tops.  Who knows.  I haven't had this one long enough to make an educated statement.

I got the same reaction with my '82 280ZX.  I haven't had the '83 long enough to gauge what kind of attention it draws.  Maybe it was the loud exhaust leak, the ratty body work, or the unfortunate purple color.

The dark grey '82 seemed to gather a lot more attention than the smaller '83.  Too bad it was a rustbucket.

I did find a close-enough domestic paint match so I can fix some rust spots on my BMW.  It's GM Bright Red.

It's not perfect, but it will do for now.

I think they were all season. At $200+ a tire having 2 sets was more than I could afford.  :bawl:

Well, Spark, my good buddy:

I guess this is where you and I part company.

I've never needed a man card. Never had one anyway. You're undoubtedly asking, "Why?"

Because I don't have a burning need to drive a Jeep to prove my manhood.

I drive the vehicle that works for me.  ;)

Snow tires are relatively cheap... $50 a tire for some brands.

I'm kicking myself for not buying some when I should have. :banghead:

I certainly don't drive it to prove my manhood, that's for sure.  Tell me how that ****ing rolling pregnant rollerskate you drive handles 2 feet of snow, though.

And as far as "man card", it's an EXPRESSION.  A figure of speech.  Not meant to be taken literally.  You know, Army guy--words...those things you have to use around HUMANS.

Not VW Jetta's for sure....

or...

Chevy Optras, Chevy Cavillers, Reanult 5's, Ford Rangers, VW Golfs, Any Volvo Ever produced and any car I've ever owned with (possibly) the exception of a BMW 325 I owned in the late 90s.

I'm beginning to see that the only constant factor in this equation might be you....

Well, I've had that pregnant roller skate in two feet of snow -- not just here in MO, but in NE OH, where lake effect snow is a real bitch. Never been stuck. Next question on vee-hick-culls?  :lmao:

Well, your "expression" or "figure of speech" or "symbol of repressed manhood not to be taken literally" is something that you find completely necessary, idn't it?  :rotf:

If it isn't necessary, why are you bringing it up?

Best "car" I ever had for going in snow was a 1961 COMET station wagon....6 cyl, auto trans. There were 6 of us carpooling back in the late 60's when we had a 2 foot wet snow. It was a 40 mile trip to work and we always took the back way to work. We were the only car to go down that road that night. We had to stop and break the top out of pine trees a few times but we made it when others didn't. We usually alternated days driving but I drove that whole 7 day shift.
