A Canadian man’s attempts to meet up with a woman he met online have gone horribly wrong after his date turned out to be his own girlfriend.

Barrie police said the 49-year-old woman turned up at a local coffee shop at the weekend at the arranged time and proceeded to throw coffee in her boyfriend’s face before slapping him.

Sounds like the Rupert Holmes song "Escape (The Pina Colada Song").

Sorry for any earworms.  At least I didn't post the YouTube video/song.

Now wait a dang minute.  ..... SHE showed up TOO!  One or the other could say they were setting the other up (wow what a cover!) but the fact is they both showed up.

It's possible they were both looking and this was purely a chance encounter, but given the outcome it looks a whole lot more likely that she figured out what he was doing and outsmarted him.  Well played, if so!

That's the way I see it, too.  Hope they stay together.  That'll save two other people grief.

How old is Compaq?
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

I could totally see this becoming the next "You've Got Mail"-type movie.  Couple starts to drift apart.  They start searching for dates online.  They unknowingly choose each other for a date.  They show up for the date.  They realize just how much they truly love each other.  They kiss.  The music rises.  The end.

Except that a cup of coffee and a slap pretty much ended any chance of that happening . . .  :whistling:

Yeah, but it'd be Hollywood.  "Based on a true story" means "we took the parts we liked and left out the parts we didn't."
