The funeral's for the benefit of the living, not the dead.  Grow up, people.

As I said, I'm looking at this from a PR perspective. This is Obama's victory to taint.

If I held his funeral, "O Allah, forgive our living and our ...awh **** it, he ain't got no family get here, DUmp his ass."

I am remided of the funeral of Freddy the Rat in "Archy and Mehitabel," but the odds are very high that Frank is the only person widely-read enough to understand the reference.

Yup, I had to look it up. Never heard of Freddy, so I damned sure hadn't heard of Archy the cockroach or Mehitabel, the alley cat.

The funeral's for the benefit of the living, not the dead.  Grow up, people.

True DAT,  So why do we give benefit to the living that not only followed a monster but still believes in the monsters ideas????

Few monsters get a burial as they the monsters want, what do we do with the executed monsters that die, do we give them any kind of funeral to pacify their family's?   I did not see any kind of formal funeral for anyone in our prisons for the sake of their family.

What's the matter for you, this was the worlds most hated enemy, our boys and girls in the military gave their lives to catch the son or a bitch.

Should not we receive closer by at least seeing his head on a pike.????

Who can now go to the graves of our children and honestly tell them, rest in peace we got the bastard???

I am all for parading the enemy of the world in public view, the family's of those he murdered should have the opportunity to spit on his corps, piss on it and carry off finger and toes to mount in a shadow box at home as a relic of justice.

We are human, the murder of a family member in order to close the book needs some kind of proof that the monster is indeed gone.

Let's see, we are told that the killer of Abe Lincoln died in a barn fire, yet years later people would swearing on their dieing breath that Booth got out and lived for years later.  The body was never recovered and shown to the public and so a legion was born.

Oswald was murdered by a bar keeper that some how got through all the security, look at all the stuff on conspiracy that has come up after that , the grassy Noll and other weird stuff.

Had I been in charge, I would have ordered a complete autopsy, then the best embalmers in the world to treat the body.

Next the body would have been placed totally naked in a glass case and trucked around to every small and large city in America. Placed on display for 3 days and off he would go to another town or city.

Disgrace him, hold him to ridicule, screw the Muslim comunity we are not doing this because of his faith but for his acts and deeds.      Next time we catch another one, do the same, are we so fearfull of a religious comunity in our country that we fear their reaction ????

If we cannot controll a small segment of society then we may as well give the country up to them. We have lost all government and now it is every man for themselves, we are now entering the second Dark Ages

One of the sketchy cartoons associated with the column shows a deceased rat dropping into a garbage can in the alley.  Archy describes it in the text as 'freddy the rat was buried with full military honors.'

As I noted in the OP:

3) moderate Muslims, when they do exist, live in the shadows because they are oppressed.

4) Obama just told them he's more concerned with the perceptions of their oppressors than practical realities

Today on PJ Media:

I take it all back.

I thought Obama would goat-**** his 1 major accomplishment with UBLs disposal.

Little did I suspect the WH was so desperate to cock-crow they couldn't even get their story straight on whether or not UBL was armed/unarmed/resisting and if a wife/random female was held hostage/killed/wounded.

Worse (for them) the dems are in ass-covering mode about Gitmo, waterboarding etc and looking increasingly petty politicizing as they do so.

Again, from a strictly PR frame of mind:

I seriously think Obama may lose more points from this than he'll gain because his reflexes are ego-driven and his past words and deeds will haunt him (but those too were ego-driven).

The American people expect leadership (from presidents, no less!) not pandering to murderous zealots and not gaming them for fools by trying to puff-up on the front page of the NYT.

I honestly wanted to congratulate Obama & Co. on a mission well done and a tough call decided. Now I find myself screaming, "DUDE! Shut the **** up while you're ahead!"

Every other word out of the various minions commenting to the press is "gutsy" and how Obama's decision was just that.

Jeez, guys, I know you're all working from a script, but put a cork in it already!

We got it! Gutsy! Okay!

Now, can Barry go back to his freakin' golf game?

What strikes me as portraying this administration as floundering is the fact that they were sitting there watching this on TV in real time, and they had time to get the "narrative" straight, yet they didn't.   That is another thing about Jay Carney's presser today, he used the word narrative, which to me has always meant story as in fiction.

That just drives home the point: they're spending--as Eupher noted--every other word of airtime saying "gutsy" to the point where anyone paying attention wants to puke their guts up over the ad nauseam repetition.

Sure, Americans have their buffoonish moments (ever watch COPS and/or America's Funniest Home Videos?) but they are stupid and they certainly don't like being gamed on something as serious as 9/11.

You cannot claim to be gutsy when you are out trying to score cheap political points.

You cannot claim to be competent when you can't even get your ****ing narrative straight.

Obama's best strategy would to heap unending praise upon the troops and analysts he commands and not even mention himself. THAT would personally benefit them the most but--ironically--they're too ****ing narcissistic to win the highest praise for themselves.

By this weekend everyone will have soured on Obama's handling of his victory. It will be remembered as worse than Bush's "Mission Accomplished" moment because at least that was unintentional (and not even his). But nobody likes an incompetent blowhard who deliberately acts with only his own selfish interests in mind.

An interesting juxtaposition is developing:

In Muslim world, many doubters say bin Laden still lives

(NewsCore) - Across the Muslim world, the killing of Usama bin Laden has unleashed a swirl of conspiracy theories, with many Pakistanis, Afghans and Arabs refusing to believe US assurances that al Qaeda's founder is actually dead,

So the sub-savages claim we're lying about the entire matter...

...but they want revenge nonetheless.

Truth--even the sub-savages own twisted versions of it--has no bearing on their actions. They're animals. They cannot be reasoned with. They cannot be inflamed, they are perpetually inflamed and nothing can un-inflame them.

So, just who was Obama appealing to with his misguided stunt?

And that will be the 17% that still votes for him long after the other 83% have grown sick of his shit.

Somethings cooking and there are to many chiefs in the kitchen.

Who are we to believe, a 12 year old girl who was there  or Obama????

Why did we not round up all living witnesses and bring them along to be questioned????

The compound was unguarded but a 20 minute fire fight took place between 24 Navy Seals and 3-4 armed men ?????

DNA tests now take only 18 hours to perform ????  Full sophisticated lab aboard the ship to handle DNA testing ?????

If for months they had a mock up of the compound and trained in who would go where , how did they not know there would be a problem with a black hawk in that area???

Before the days of the computer and the web, the public may have bought into this story, however we are a questioning people now, a bit more sophisticated then the people that got their news from radio or TV.

I believe it was the Nixon era that has caused people to question darn near everything government does.    Brought out the ideas of conspiracy ideas to every ones mind.  More times we find we are right--there was a conspiracy to cover up corruption then not.

We have a president that spent millions of dollars to keep his past a closed secret from us.    Now we know there are pictures and films of this action he took  ----we the American public who suffered from 9/11 and the thousands of  our children in a war to find this man said to have master minded the deaths are told it is none of their business to even see pictures of the dead man behind it all.  It may make some terrorist angry.

Obama will meet with a select few victims family's of 9/11 -----What the hell is this all about????

Yupo the time has come to make pot legal, keep us all stoned and unaware of the life we are sinking into. The crazy thinking that Obama expects us to follow will in time drive us Mad.

They're about the same...one short term and the other long term. Of course they can be the same duration if you chain smoke.

:yeahthat:

Really now, here we have 200+ different storeys on what happend that night.

3 members of congress say were they were shown photos of  UBL dead, now they declare the photos were a fake.     So who the heck in the government showed them the photos and why do they now know these photos were a fake.?????  Who faked them and why???

All family and eye wittiness to the take down were delivered to the Paki government out of range for anyone to question except for someone saying the 12 year old daughter says her father surrendered and was then shot.

How do we know this 12 year old was his daughter and not his newest wife????  Where is this girl now, where is his son, where is the woman shot in the leg???

Who was the person who said the deceased was in amazingly good health-----Did UBL not have Kidney failure 10 years ago ???

I may be a brick short of a full load my friends, but, Daddy taught me not to believe what I hear and half of what I see.

Question, Question all, and never trust anyone and then question your own ideas and beliefs.---Trust in gut instincts, woman have this uncanny ability to know when things are not as they are told or seem.

In the rush to gain applause these rubes find only embarrassment.

Quote
...White House officials said they would give no new details about the raid on his compound in Pakistan, an information clampdown that followed fitful attempts to craft a riveting narrative about the killing of al-Qaeda’s leader.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/white-house-goes-silent-on-bin-laden-raid/2011/05/04/AF1v87rF_story.html

The gave up strategic advantages in their clamour to be conratulated when they A) announced UBL was killed and B) they had a "treasure trove" of intel.

They wanted to bask in the warmth of glowing poll numbers.

Now they've embarrassed themselves into silence and that silence--especially after being such loud-mouths--will now provoke even more embarrassing questions both in quantity and quality.

In today's military forces, what are the odds of there not being a muzzie as a member of the crew of the Navy aircraft carrier?  :mental: :thatsright:

And why wouldn't the Navy have that muzzie at a press conference to describe his eyewitness account of the proceedings?  :clueless:

Not likely, McGee.  :censored:
