I thought Navy/Airforce did more sea and air battles, and Marines/Army did more frontline, field battle.

SEAL's are pretty much the cream of the crop in terms of US branch special forces (Delta is comprised of all). If you like reading, read Marcus Luttrell's (A bad mofo) book, "Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10".

I use quotes around "equivalent" only because of the special operations aspect of what both outfits do. They are the highest trained, deadly, and no-bullshit warriors in any military, anywhere.

Put it to you like this, Marine Corps Force Recon, USAF Special Forces (Combat Controllers, don't know about ParaRescue), and, if I'm not mistaken, some US Army Special Forces attend BUD/s. It doesn't go the other way. SEALs have no desire to spend a month or so in the pine tree hell known as Camp Mackall, NC going through SFAS.

From what I'm hearing the raid to take out Usama lasted only 40 minutes or so.  In and out.  Did they pass up the chance to search the place for plans or anything else that may have been useful?
