This is NOT a recount!

About a dozen representatives of Kloppenburg's campaign were seated at tables in a conference room at the administration building, poring through poll books to see the number of voters and then looking at tapes of votes that were recorded by voting machines.

   Recount initiators may petition the court for a recount to be conducted by hand, though the law specifies that the burden of proof is on the petitioner to demonstrate why a hand count should be enforced. Otherwise, the default counting method is the same as that used in the initial canvass: paper ballots are counted by hand; optical scan ballots are retabulated on an automatic tabulator; and for votes cast on direct-recording electronic machines (DREs), the voter-verified paper audit trail (VVPAT) is detached and counted by hand. Listen to this. It's Kevin Kennedy, Director of GAB on Ben Meren's show on WPR on Thursday about an hour before the press conference. The entire program is about this race. They talk about the Brookfield votes. It's an interesting program and will clear up a lot of misinformation being spread.

One interesting conversation of note starting around 17:00:

Kennedy: "When we do the re-count every ballot gets looked at by a human being and ballots that wouldn't have been read by the machine will be decided by the Board of Canvass"

Merens: "So the canvass is counting of the official tape and the recount is a look at all the ballots that make up that tape?"

Kennedy: "That's correct"

I bolded the same text that Nikki did at DU -- I get the feeling that she may be mistaken - LOOKING at ballots to insure they are the correct set, undamaged and not tampered with isn't the same as COUNTING them. I suspect once they verify that the tapes match the ballots they are bundled with, the ballots are then going to be shoved back through the tabulator again.

If this is the case, There will be much Nikki hatin' in the not too distant future.

They're both right in their own regards.

There will be no recount--only a canvassing--because the % by which Prosser is ahead is outside the statistical MoE. Ploppenturd can ask for a recount but absent any probable cause of tampering she'll have to foot the bill herself. One would hope a judiciary candidate would understand/appreciate probable cause but she is only made it this far because she's a tool. Without PC all her union masters will be doing is throwing away even more money for no purpose except to delay the certification just to be spiteful.

Of course the libs forget that due to Sumi's incompetence the case is being sped to the WISC and will be heard and probably decided well before August when Ploppenturd would be seated had she won.  I wholly expect the libs to caterwaul that Prosser should recuse himself or the case delayed until the true winner can be properly seated.
