Reason number umpteenbillion why I really, really, REALLY hate government intrusion into our lives.  Put away the sharp and heavy objects, folks, because you're going to want to throw something after reading this.

Quote
A New Jersey woman has lost custody of her child for the past five years for refusing to sign a consent form permitting a C-section during her child’s birth, according to an exclusive report published by Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper.

The Daily Mail reports that the woman, whose initials are given as VM, was accused of child abuse by staff of St. Barnabas Hospital of New Jersey for refusing to sign the document, despite the fact that VM agreed to submit to the operation if it later became necessary.

Although VM’s judgment turned out to be correct, and she gave birth naturally through her birth canal to a healthy baby child, her child was taken away by authorities.

And where are the "choice" advocates???  NOW?  NARAL?  Planned Parenthood?  Why the hell aren't they defending this poor woman?  (Of course, that what rhetorical.  We all know the reason.  They actually don't give a damn about women and only care about "choice" when it results in a dead baby.)

First question here is what was the race of the parents,  their ages, lots going on in the background.

Who called in Child protective services, not the hospital, unless the mother was a felon or worse, on big time drugs or the father was a sex offender.

I need more information on this, something is out of whack here.

Why does the race of the mother matter?? Are you a closet racist or just maybe an out & out racist??

I will agree that something's not right. The people involved, CPS, the hospital staff, whomever, should be criminally prosecuted if what the article  & the subsequent links infer.

I suspect that there is more to this story than what was presented in the link.
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." --Norman Thomas, 1944

Big time reason, on race, some attorneys hang out in hospitals looking for mothers that may give up their child..   Adoptive parents will pay big time for a blue eyed blond baby.

There are storeys of baby selling out there, some shelters for unwed mothers and their baby's have been shut down as this has become a very ugly racket.

My friend that works with the Catholic Church takes in new Born's waiting for adoption, in 10 years she told me she had never received one baby that was white.   These baby's are snapped up by the baby sellers that make a fortune on the blond haired, blue eyed baby's.

Check out the ratio of White, Asian and Black baby's up for adoption in this country.    Ever been to an Orphanage and seen the racial mixture of the kids.    Even the children with some kind of medical problem that are white are adopted before healthy children that are non white.

This is a fact, not a raciest comment, but a fact.   Why do you think people go all over the world to adopt children, with the thousands of baby's and children here in America available for adoption why go to Russia, or Asia for a child.

The baby selling is the dark hidden part of America, it is nasty and mean.    So I was curious about the mothers race just to see if she had been caught up in this slave market one may say, the selling of her baby.

http://www.theunnecesarean.com/blog/2009/7/21/refusal-of-unnecesarean-leads-to-loss-of-custody-vs-story.html

I'm not going to quote any of it, it's too complicated...

WOW this is interesting, a woman that age in labor gets distraught ??

Well lets ask a few woman in here that has ever gone into labor---and their husbands about this.

At any time in the pregnancy was a woman told that regardless of the pain she had to hold to a decorum of calm and rational thinking???

At any time she was instructed that out bursts of yells  would annoy the staff, visitors and other patients so to please keep their voice down ??

Any time you in labor during a big contraction ever sat up and listened to a doctor and  rationally  made a decision on something and signed on the dotted line???-----

Anyone ever go into the hospital with water breaking and expect to be bombarded with Nurses  insisting you allow the hospital to do as it wished over your own wishes??

This is nuts, this woman had every right to deny anyone from not agreeing to the mothers wishes when the mother is given orders  orders they did not trust.

We woman all have storeys about birthing our baby's, I remember with one of my 4 , I found it was easier  to kneel on the bed , grab both rails and let gravity come into play.   Nurses came into my room and tried to insist I lay down, they did not force me but the baby like to have fell out of me this way.     I had been reading up on 18 century birthing chairs and decided to give it a try.

Any one else have have a story about birthing by self or Hubby that just had to watch and wonder??

Being confused about topics seems to be a "norm" for you, Vesta. ::) :hammer: It's a story about a  couple whose child was abducted by Social Services. Either the Spa or Health & Fitness would be  a more appropriate venue. Her labor problems are secondary to the story.

People go all over the world to adopt because adoptions in the US using an agency can be very difficult and heartbreaking.

Overseas, the restrictions are looser.
A lot of families adopt black babies overseas- it has little to do with color.

Exactly, Sarge. However, it is of MY opinion that Vesta has some underlying racist issues. I base that on the context of her posts, nothing more. And..... you know what they say about "opinions"...

Adoption isn't even relevant to the conversation, as the kid was placed in FOSTER care.
Not adopted.

Never saw an attorney hanging around my room or the rest of the floor at our hospital.
