How many ways can you save?
Reducing energy consumption is maybe the best way to insure we have enough. We all know how to do it.
Keep your thermostats at livable temperatures, not comfortable ones. Buy more fresh food, more often, so you don't need to blast your refrigerator. Drive less. Turn things off that consume electricity when not in use, and try to use them less.
But does anyone have a tip to share that maybe isn't so obvious?
Livable temperatures could mean different things to different people. Before I got a wood furnace my oil one broke and I lived with a 49 degree house for several weeks. I'd rather be comfortable in an winter up here.
I buy stuff right from the local farmers however I use the fridge just as much as I did before, possibly even more so as I fill a freezer with meat.
I drive a car more efficient then most of what they drive and driving less isn't an option, not that I'd drive less if it was.
Turn things off that consume electricity? I think we all do that to a reasonable extent. Sure we won't all unplug power bars but we'll all turn off the TV, lamp or radio.
The best way to conserve energy is to stop breathing. It works every time rarely without fail.
I always charge my cell phone in my car whenever I can, so I'm not using additional energy to do this. Maybe we can all share some ideas. What's yours?

Does this person not understand how things work? Charging it in your car takes power too, so yes it is additional electricity. Plug anything into your car and it has to burn more gas to power it, or to recharge the battery...
