Victim's Dad Vows to Murder Child Killer Michael Woodmansee if He Gets Out

I don't blame the father for feeling that way. Scum like Michael Woodmansee should be exposed to nuclear radiation.  :argh: :bird:

Misleading headline.  Should be Victim's Dad Vows to EXECUTE Child Killer....
Sometimes I long for the days of frontier justice.  Woodmansee would've been dead a long time ago.

I long for a Attila or Torquemada treatment on scum. Their brutality and gruesomeness is beyond description.

We should use the same Attila treatment on the moonbats along with the criminals to intimidate them.

IF the Thais and Mexcians will take 'em.  After all, no one wants the current Gitmo detainees, which is why Zer0 decided he had to keep it open.

So put me down as one of the meanest nasty old Bitch in the world, but I find this and look at it different from most of you.

This father was given the chance to see the monster who destroyed his child kept in prison for life.    This man now says he agreed to the plea as HE could no longer go through the horror of his child's murder.----Poor man, I wonder what his son went through with no help.-- did his son not face horror worse then the fathers?

Now his decision to get away from his pain at the time opened the door for the Monster to go free .  The father I feel is threatening to kill the Monster not for what was done to his son but to rectify his own guilt for letting the Monster walk.

He says he could no longer face the facts of his sons death and to do what was necessary to get all this behind him----Could be, but then when the monster did get out he could move into next door to others in his family.

This father is a sad and confused man, no way is he going to harm a hair on the Monsters head, His problem is not with the Monster walking free but with himself for allowing the Monster to go free.

Why when the horror went down did the father not find a way to kill the Monster at that time when any jury would have let him off.?   Why wait for years, and now announce his intentions that a jury could put HIM in jail for years??

This is just my take, I would in that cumconstance go to each and every parole hearing as does the family of those killed by Manson and keep that Bastard locked up for life.

My pain on hearing the facts is nothing compaired to the Victoms, the very least on can do for a loved one.

When I first read vesta's screed above, I initially thought she'd been into the woof cookies again. Incoherent, completely whacko, her post smacked of "let's bash the victim" because it's the current thing to do.

But after thinking about it a few minutes (and reading the link), I tend to agree with her.

While there's no doubt that Jason Foreman's father still grieves over the loss of his son, his revenge-seeking and threats to kill Woodmansee are simply not rational. The man has been incarcerated for more than 28 years and, according to the rule of law, he will have served his sentence upon his release should that come to pass.

Foreman's outrage and grief is borne of his own guilt in allowing a plea deal to determine Woodmansee's sentence, assuming he had a hand in that decision.

The crime itself is gruesome and unfathomable. Had the system worked properly, and had there been capital punishment in RI at the time, Woodmansee should've been put down like the dog he is.  For more than 28 years he has sucked up resources at the expense of the same people he victimized. Murderers should be put to death after sentencing, with one opportunity for judicial review not to extend longer than a year. If the lawyers can't prove the convicted murderer's innocence in a year, the animal gets the needle. Or hangman's noose. Or firing squad.

But Foreman has to now reap what he's sown, and that thought is tortuous for him. Ergo the threats to kill the murderer.

Someone who murders a child, then consumes the flesh of the child, should NEVER be allowed outside the prison. Matter of fact, IMO they've given up their right to live among civilized human beings and should be exterminated.

If you're really gonna do something like that, advertising it is an extremely bad idea.  Just sayin'.

Based on this, from the article, Mr. Foreman did have a say in accepting the plea bargain:

Foreman told WPRO, "He should have gotten a life sentence, but stupidly I allowed a plea bargain to go so I wouldn't have to put up with the agony of hearing all the evidence at the time."

I can certainly understand his feelings at the time.  What's sad, beside the tragic murder of his son, is the fact that it's obvious this man has let grief, guilt, and vengeance ruin his own life.  I have never lost a child, and pray I never do, but I have known people to lose children, albeit not to murder, and they all managed to pick themselves up and get on with their lives.

Exactly.

But more of a practical, legal question (maybe for DAT), is how is it that the family of a crime victim can "allow" a plea of one type or another? Don't both sides of the issue - prosecution and defense - have to agree to pleas, and don't they have to be ultimately approved by the sitting judge?

Why would a victim's family have ANY legal recourse when it comes to pleas?

Granted, the family may have a preference and express it, but I just don't see how they can actually hold themselves accountable for a plea like Foreman does.

Unless there was some special State policy or procedure, it's entirely a matter of the Prosecutor's discretion to extend any deal instead of just going for trial.  For heinous crimes, a prosecutor will generally to want to have the survivors/victims on board and go with their wishes, 'cause it's a bitch to try to prosecute somebody with pissed-off or uncooperative government witnesses, but they don't legally HAVE to get them to endorse the deal.

That kinda squares with my thinking.

The prosecutor sought Foreman's "blessing" and as a result, Foreman thinks he's personally responsible for the plea deal that he supported, but didn't necessarily approve.

Freakin' drama queen.

I hope the cops can keep an eye on the guy and keep him from doing something stupid, but it sounds to me like the guy is just running his yap.
