Right-wingers love to attack unions, while enjoying the benefits fought for by unions

I wonder how many of these right-wingers who love to attack union workers are working a comfortable 40-hour work week? I wonder how many of them enjoy cashing those overtime paychecks? I wonder how many of them look forward to spending the weekend with their families? I wonder how many of them would never even think about sending their children to work in a sweatshop? I wonder how many of them enjoy planning for their yearly vacation?

You know, basically all those benefits that were fought for by union workers that they now take for granted...

I wonder how many of these left-wingers who love to attack our country and our soldiers are living a comfortable life? I wonder how many of them enjoy cashing those govt checks? I wonder how many of them look forward to spending the weekend with their families? I wonder how many of them would never even think about not having their freedoms? I wonder how many of them enjoy planning for their yearly vacation?

You know, basically all those benefits that were fought for by soldiers in our country that they now take for granted...

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Let me explain something to you, you howling brown growler:  The unions have not done a ****ing thing for me.  Nothing.  Nada.  Zip shit.

The only one who determines whether or not I work a 40 hour week and get vacation is me.  Did you hear that, shithead?  Me

I spent my young life getting educated and picking up experience so when I got older, I could have the luxury of picking a company where I had those options.  Funny thing, though, I actually like to work.  Therefore, if I work more hours, I get paid more.  The union did not do that for me.  I did.  Another funny thing, I don't have to pay any of my wages to a bunch of corrupt assholes who will send it to a filthy assed democrat who is going to demand I send more to them so they can run my livelihood out of my town.  I watched union slugs sit in the same heat, noise, smoke, and filth for a whole lot less an hour than what I was making.

**** a union.

For that matter, the first one who stands up and says "union" in my office will get my right hand run through his ****ing head.

Whatever use the unions had, they outlived long ago.  Any public employee that feels the need to "organize" for "protection" against the tax payers deserves neither "protection" nor taxpayer money.

Your unions are dead, DUmbass, get used to it.  The only places that are going to **** over their employees are those places that can replace humans with machines or the citizens of India; ie idiots like you.  Those companies that actually value talent are not.  Educate yourself, put the ****ing bong down, and pull up your pants, asshole.  Then, maybe, you'll be able to evolve from what you are now to a productive citizen.

I replied to this a few days ago:

Quote
Throughout the Wisconsin kerfluffle I've seen multiple protesters--when they aren't punching women or being racist--claiming we proles ought to support the union because without them we would not have 40-hour work weeks or fair wages or safe working conditions.

I reject this.

Whether the above benefits are true or not I reject the notion that I owe the unions anything beyond a grudging shrug. I certainly reject the notion that I owe any union a dime of tax money.

You see, I am a citizen of the USA not the UAW, AFL-CIO. I pay my taxes to the US so that it may institute militaries and police forces. This is to keep the bombs off the roof and the bums off the street and hopefully somewhere in-between I have a peaceful society wherein I may pursue happiness (happiness being defined as loose wimmenz). The taxes and what they procure are to the benefit of all citizens.

I certainly do not pledge allegiance to the NEA or the hegemony for which it stands. That any private, single-constituency based organization presume to tell me that I owe it tax money for the material benefit of its members is NOT a function of government. It is akin to the publicans of old wherein empires hired tax collectors from among the disarmed populace. So long as the imperial levy was paid the publican was free to keep what was left over. As you might imagine the leftovers where plentiful.

The public employee unions are worse than publicans. Not only do they keep the left overs, they use that money to demand the empire raise the levy to hire more muscle to shake down more citizens.

You have it backwards public employee unions: I don't owe you. You owe me. Had we not consented you would not have public schools or any other function of government. It only takes a legislative flick of the wrist to disband your entire sordid, incestous charter. In case you missed that day in civics class "consent of the governed" means something in these parts.

Perhaps you need to remember the allegiances you owe us.

We are willing to remind you.

Thank you unions for running good paying industry jobs out of the country....we will soon be able to hire people to do yard work that actually speak pretty good english.

The unions had their place in the early part of the century, and I doubt there are many who will deny that they played an important role then, but they have outlived their usefulness.

Tell me liberals, why should a college educated person (teachers, nurses, or any other unionized position) need help negotiating their salary and benefits.  Companies want the best employees they can get, so they work to provide fair wages and benefits to attract talent.  Why do you think Google and Apple have such awesome benefit packages?  I negotiated my salary when I was hired,

Anybody of reasonable intelligence should be able to go their boss and ask for a raise if it has been earned.  Most places have annual reviews, and that is where raises can be discussed.  I'm currently looking at leaving my job over an issue I have with their vacation policy, as well as various other issues regarding pay and promotion policies.  I'm not trying to start a union to negotiate a longer vacation.  I presented a write up of what I was willing to do for an extra two days vacation time (I have three weeks accrued, but am only allowed to take two at a time), they didn't accept my offer, so I started sending out my resume to hopefully find a job where I'll feel more appreciated.  I'll likely end up shortening my vacation anyways, but now it is the principal of the matter  :-)

That is how it is supposed to work.  They have the right to set their salary, benefits, and policies, and I have the right to leave if I wish.  Private employers are free to get rid of underperforming employees, while unions don't allow that, but force the company to continue raising their salary even when undeserved.

When I first negotiated my wage with Home Depot, they wanted to pay me the same as they did the guy pushin' in the carts from the parking lot. I gave them my experience and work record, then told them what I would take. Guess which one they hired me at?

To tell ya truth, I doubted they would pay what I was requirin'. Funny thing is, they called me the next day and told me to get in for a drug test and a background search. That would just kick your union ass, wouldn't it? Haven't you guys tried everything you can to make sure none of you dope smokin' bastards have to own up to either one?

Ya get what ya pay for, and obviously they knew I would be an asset and make them money. You worthless bastards can't say the same can you, seein' as how you do your damnedest to keep from actually workin'.

If one of you union goons tried that, you'd be pushin' carts in the parking lot. The only experience you have is "union" experience, and employers would rather invite the plague into their business as hire the likes of you!

You're proving it right now in WI!
I'm the guy your mother warned you about!

I do enjoy items brought to us via the benefit of unions, but I'm pretty sure I would enjoy them more if I could take the unions out of the equation and get the goods at a cheaper cost.

DUmmies subscribe to the simplistic notion that if a little is good, a lot must be better.

There's a running joke in the sardonic humor of health care providers that goes, "If one pill is good, ten have to be great, right?". Which points to the folly of laymen self-prescribing medication and ending up overdosing.

It's the same with many other human endeavors meant to "help". Unions have done some good things just like government has done some good things. However, neither is infallible and tend to overstep bounds to the point that they either reach diminishing returns or do outright harm if limits are not set.

This childish mindset that (insert institution here) achieved this or that and so you must never question it betrays the "nuance" on which they claim to have a concession.

I have nothing against unions per se, but they have to realize that their actions affect many other people than just the union membership, many times in negative ways, and so boundaries must be established. This is especially true in the public sector where citizens are held hostage to many of the services government provides. In that sense, the taxpayer should hold the greatest sway in matters concerning their (the government's) employees.

Unions help to hold wages down for some people.  When a company is forced to pay everyone the same regardless of their worth, the better workers will become slouches since their effort gains them nothing more than the slackers get.

All these generous benefits came around 100 years ago.

Since then, what have the unions done? Nothing except constantly demanding higher wages and forcing employers to seek employees outside the US. Unions have priced themselves outside the market.

Unions today are nothing more than a democratic party tax on the right to work.

The guy you see before you watch the video is one of us and the guy with the hat on in the beginning is also a good guy. It was the other guy in the beginning of the video who was arguing with the guy in the hat who said "why do you have the right to "YOUR" money". This is how they really think.  Listen to it again.

Edited: both of the "good guys" have hats on.

They weren't interested in hearing his side.  They were only interested in talking over him, as if that somehow adds validity to their statements.

This is true. They were shouting and only hear want they want to hear. People who are wrong and defensive get loud. When the guys made a comment, the other people begin to sputter and stammer. I loved the one part, when she says, : I pay union dues
he said: good for you

silience....

My question to these union protesters is why would you want to pay someone to negotiate your salary, benefits and so on?? and then admit it in public??That's why we have applications and resumes, and corporations have a standard salary for certain positions, and based on the resume and experience, that salary can be negotiated. The company has a list of standard benefits that is offered to everyone. Why do you need a middleman to do these negotiations when one is perfectly capable of doing that themselves???

Yes Walmart caters to employees that have special needs, and they have advocates that help them, with the application process, interviews. We have this guy John, who is very pleasant, he has an advocate to help him, John gets a bit distracted at times. He comes to work and I think he likes to feel useful and contribute to society.
