Wisconsin Governor's Attack on Labor May Backfire on Radical Right

Saul Alinsky used to say, "you can always count on your enemies." That may turn out to be true in the case of the Wisconsin governor's attack on the right of state workers to choose a union.

Scott Walker's plan was a blitzkrieg attack that would catch the opposition with its defenses down, like Germany's attack on Russia at the beginning of World War II. His goal was to emasculate the ability of public service employees to negotiate with the state over their salaries and working conditions, and begin the destruction of the unions that represent public sector workers all over America.

Wisconsin was to be the first state to fall. Then other states with radical right governors -- like Ohio and Indiana -- would follow suit.

Well, the first casualty of war is the plan. Turns out that -- at least for now -- Walker's expectation of a lightning-fast victory has been thwarted by a determined Democratic Senate caucus that left the state and denied the Senate a quorum. But just as importantly, the right's entire nationwide plan has been put in jeopardy by the fact that when the alarm sounded, everyday citizens throughout Wisconsin and around the nation, answered the call.

I have been spending some time reading the ramblings of the leftist media, and all I can state is just wow.   They really are that removed from reality aren't they?

Here is what you don't understand Mr. Creamer, 15K tea party members who mobilized to WI utilizing their OWN funds and means to travel there, means one hell of a lot more than then the 50K "everyday folks" who are bought and paid for by unions.

These Democratic senators who left the state are denying the democratic process to Wisconsin residents.   That is not only disgusting, it is what is worthy of recall petitions.

Hi,

I agree with you.

Perhaps someone can explain something to me.

How come tea parties can march on Washington and all over America and the libs can pass a health care bill despite polls that show that 60% of America is opposed to it, and they ignore the protestors as though they did not exist.  They were dismissed as radicals, idiots etc.

Now the public overwhelmingly demands that budgets be cut, hire folks to do the job and the wealthy union members take to the streets and somehow they gain legitimacy, despite the election and the fact the union members are the wealthy as compared to the rest of the taxpayers in the State of Wisconsin?

Somehow the libs do not get it.  Only protestors, who are paid to protest the minority point of view are legitimate?????

regards,

WOW! they really are delusional. What's the %age of people who belong to unions? maybe 12%? less if you only include federal and state union workers, and the rest of the people who are non-union or who are hurting now being member of private unions are fed-up with paying for these people's retirements and not being able to pay for our own.

I'm not a member of the Tea Party, but I did notice very clearly how Obama despises you for your actions, but champions foreigners for doing the same thing.

Now, I'm greatly confused.

National Palesti--er, Public Radio alleged this morning that the tea party patriots who gathered in Madison yesterday (Saturday) was "the largest conservative crowd ever seen in the capital" (but didn't give numbers).

Since when has the mainstream news media accurately reported on sizes of crowds, and not minimized attendance by conservatives and Republicans?

I'd say that your possibility has a better chance of coming true than HuffPo's.

Actually, the union tactics may really hurt them come 2012.  They're spending all of their money now to defeat the various budget proposals in the various states that are putting them forth, so they won't have nearly as much to help the Obamessiah in his re-election bid then.

Plus, good and decent people everywhere will be fired up to get the union-enabling Dems out of office then.

Hmm, maybe because of the budget cuts Republicans are proposing in reference to NPR and PBS?
