Here's my basic 3rd cycle diet:

Pre-breakfast:
1 cup of hot water with lemon juice -- this gets the digestive process started, which is important to keep up the metabolism level

Breakfast:
One cup of Greek plain, non-fat yogurt with some fruit - strawberries or blueberries.
One scrambled egg (about 2-3 days a week -- not every day)
A cup of green tea

Lunch:
A big-assed salad of some type, with about 2 tablespoons of ranch dressing
One Fuji apple
More green tea

Dinner:
Veggies of some type - whether in a salad or grilled (like they have in the Macaroni Grill -- great stuff)
A big-assed skinless chicken breast, with maybe some pico de gallo on it. Sometimes a white fish like Swai, but I'm NOT  fish eater. So that's kinda seldom.
More green tea

I haven't had any beef in easily a month, and I don't miss it all that much (yeah, asshole -- you keep telling yourself that lie!)  :rotf:

I spend 35 - 40 minutes on the elliptical about 5 days a week.

I drink a half a gallon of water per day, with OCCASIONAL forays into a diet soda.

Once in awhile I sneak a chocolate bar with almonds or a couple of cookies and in this cycle, I'm permitted to eat a small amount of bread.

NO CARBS AFTER 2 P.M.

The first week was a bitch, because of the rut I'd eaten myself into, but it's really not so bad now. I think I can do this for awhile.

Chicken is the shrimp of the ... sea.  Or something.

I've never actually tried to get tired of chicken.  I suppose if I bought like fifty pounds of it and had to eat it all before it went bad before freezing any of it or ate it at every meal I might, but there are so many delicious and tasty ways to make chicken.  And then there's Shake 'n Bake.

I bought about five pounds of chicken breasts and a bunch of Shake 'n Bake because it was on sale.  You have to slightly undercook a breast (150°) to keep it juicy, but it's all good.

I have a bunch of frozen tilapia filets, but I'm kinda tired of them.

Tilapia tastes a little too fishy for me. Swai isn't too bad, and I'll do cod and flounder, but don't even talk to me about salmon.  :puke:

I just ain't a fish guy.

Salmon is almost as much fun to eat as it is to catch. :fishing:

my brother catches salmon all the time and the best food I have ever eaten is when he wraps a side of it in foil with butter and lemon/dill and puts it on the grill.  OMG.

In 25 days?

No, I'm 3 days in the 3rd cycle, so that's 37 days.

Nice going! No yolks at all?

I've been eating walnuts and peanuts of late -- maybe a handful at a time to ward off the hungries. They're oily, but that's not a huge, huge issue.

Diving into a pint of Haagen Daz (sp?) WOULD be a big deal.  :bawl:

I throw one yolk in there for the protein so it's a 6 egg white omelet with one yolk.....whatever it's delicious

I eat peanuts also...fixing to make me a bit ole salad to eat.

I love this diet because I don't eat sweets anyway so it's so easy for me.

I do believe that most of an egg's protein is in the white, not the yolk. Other nutrients, as well as some cholesterol, are in the yolk.

Ohhhhh thanks for that, I guess I should read up  on it, I have always heard the yolks are the bad part but I do love me some yolk

I fight the hungries with nuts too. I buy the cans of deluxe nuts...and eat them in specific order. Cashews and pecans, then the almonds, suffer through the filberts, and toss the Brazil nuts.

I can barely eat a peanut anymore. Ate too many of them when I first started the diet back in July.  :(

Thanks, but I think most of it is the fact I'm movin' my ass so much more than Mrs E.

She gets on the treadmill and walks fairly quickly - about 3.5 mph - for 17 whole minutes.  :whatever:

But I get on the elliptical and keep the speed at an average of 60 rpms for anywhere from 35 to 45 minutes. One day, while on the road, I got a little feisty and walked on the hotel's treadmill for an hour. That one yielded a bruised heel, I think - definitely some agony involved the next day.  :p
