I get pretty weak around the bakery. Fortunately, we typically shop at Walmart, so it's not too bad. Cub Foods, up North, has an AWESOME bakery.

If your Cub Foods is the same as here, I agree.  You can almost get sugar shock and gain weight just walking through the bakery area.

I have no trouble ignoring the bakery at Walmart, either. Ingles, or the rare times I get to a Publix, is a totally different story.  Both have wonderful apple fritters and the Publix in Key West has several Cuban items....oh. my.  :bawl:

Wal-Mart has loaf cake.  Must. Have.

Everybody does here. Lemon is my favorite.

I make it in a bundt form. Hmmm....may need to make one. M's been making several comments about the lack of homemade sweets around here lately.  :whatever:

Just reading the first page so far and yep it sounds alot like Atkins.

I had to do a low carb/no sugar diet about 5 years ago when they thought I was diabetic. I tried Atkins and due to my being a picky SOB when it comes to eating things I had to modify it quite a bit. In the 6 weeks I did it I lost 25 lbs. That was enough to make my system normal again and the Doctors were happy.

On December 17th I got on the scale and about shit myself when I saw how much I weighed. I started my modified Atkins again. Low carbs, avoid sugar but not eliminate it, better, healthier bread. Avoid pastas and white processed flours. In the 10 weeks since I shocked myself I've lost 36 pounds. If I can double that and maybe 5 more I'll be down to fighting weight again.

Considering the last time I saw that weight was 15 years or so ago I should be able to maintain a decent weight for the rest of my productive life without getting anywhere near as large again.

LOL Thanks I think.

Luckily, probably due to the being male thing ;) I've always had it easy when I decide I need to lose weight. Plus on an average day I walk 5 miles at work alone so I have the exercise part covered. :-)

I used to read the LVL threads with interest and his 1-2 lb or no loss weeks. He stated he wanted to lose but he really wasn't trying to awful hard from what I could see. Cut out the crap food and move a bit and it does wonders.

Entering Cycle 3 today. Weight loss to date - 24 lbs.

3+ inches on the waistline gone. I'm having to break into my "skinny" ( :lmao: ) pants.

I bought a new camel-hair coat about a month ago. I'm swimming in the damned thing now.  :p

I did almost ALL of my Christmas shopping  from online this past Christmas and do as much shopping online now, as my needs &/or budget permits.  I just bought a nice Microsoft Wireless keyboard & mouse from Tiger Direct for $20 +shipping and tax. Didn't even have to leave the yard to get it.

I know.  I have a serious aversion to online shopping.  I am doomed.

I have been averse to Amazon also, until I checked it out late in the fall, looking for a Madame Alexander doll for my granddaughter's 1st birthday. I found an incredible selection! I was still hesitant to order, until I tried looking for one around here. That's all it took! Great price, and I would have gotten free shipping, except I was out of time and afraid to risk it, as it was it got here about 3 hours before her party.  :thatsright:

I ended up ordering grandson's birthday presents (Dec 7) Leapster2, case and game - Amazon had a package deal for the 3 and I saved about $20, and got free shipping!

Ended up ordering both kids Christmas presents, and only one was more - about $15 - than what it eventually went on sale for the week before Christmas, but since it was a Toys R Us "exclusive" I didn't want to risk it. I saved more than enough on the other stuff, that I was still under Target, TrU, or Walmart prices. All shipping was free(all arrived in 2 days!!), no sales tax (which is almost 10% here), and I didn't have to deal with the crowds...it was wonderful!!!

Amazon will be my choice shopping source again next Christmas!!

I should be a "Grammie spokeperson" for Amazon.... :-)

I've purchased books and most of my computer interface cables through amazon.com. They always seems to have the best prices on what I need. I haven't had any problems with amazon, whatsoever. As a matter of fact, the cables I've ordered have been surprisingly high quality for the price.
