I'd like to have a motorcycle but I'm not sure the state will let me.  If I ever have to take another eye test, I'm screwed.  I knew I should have reinstated my motorcycle license when I moved back here in 2001. :(

I could start working on an electric car.  The greenie weenies at work would probably give me my own parking spot for it.

Primm looks a lot better in that picture than it does in Fallout: New Vegas...  :-)

Someone actually ADMITS to stopping in Primm?

He was route testing for his company.  They give him a bunch of locations to drive to to ensure the GPS isn't giving dumb ass directions.

Working 6 days a week means my gas/tolls bill each week runs about $120-125.

And from Nova Scotia today I once again have the prices at my local Irving.

Regular $1.38/L ($5.21/G)
Premium $1.45/L ($5.48/G)
Diesel $1.36/L ($5.14/G)

I used a bunch of coupons filling the car today and got Diesel for 1.20/l or 4.53/G! I got the car to almost empty and used 4 or 5 gas coupons I've been saving.

When we visit my wife's brother south of Buffalo, we always gas up on the Seneca Indian reservation, where it's $0.15 - $0.20 cheaper. An added benefit is we're not giving our money to the crooks in NYS government.

I'm seriously giving some thought to yanking the engine out of my BMW and converting it to an electric vehicle.  1st gear is non-functional but the torque of an electric motor generally makes 1st gear unnecessary.  If I eventually scrap the BMW, I can re-use everything in another car... maybe a Triumph Spitfire or MG B.

$40-50 a week for gas buys a lot of batteries.

There are a million kit sites on the net for electric conversion.  Popular options I noticed, the VW Rabbit, Cabriolet, and Porsche 914.  The 914 might be ok but if you go with a Cabriolet .... :whatever:

I also saw a Spitfire and a B could be interesting.  Up here those didn't last long with all the salt.  And of course they also suffered from Lucas, Prince of Darkness syndrome. :rotf:

The Lane Motor Museum had a 144v Spitfire conversion on display last time I was there.  It was really pretty.

I found a couple of kit sellers.  Average price is $4,500-5,000 for a 120v or 144v kit.
