Definitely making progress. I miss smoking and all that fun stuff, but I am committed to NEVER feeling that degree of fear and helplessness again.

Let's put it this way...when I was 21, I almost drowned during a camping trip to Lake Berryessa in NoCal. That incident was almost orgasmic compared to what happened on the freeway that afternoon.

Uh-uh. I'm a good boy from here on in.

Outstanding.  :II:

I quit smoking in 1979. I still had the occasional craving after 6 months, but I never looked back. I guess there's nothing like staring the Grim Reaper in the face to get the idea that life is rather tenuous. We all go when it's time, but there's a better way to go than that.

Besides, Momma will kick your furry ass if you ever light up again.

Glad you're doing better.  I quit smoking in 2004, never looked back.  But it is nice getting up at the crack of noon for an early start. :-)  ^5 to you, sir.

Unless someone is blowing it directly at me or I'm eating, I'm generally pretty easy going about it.  Or if the room is small.  As a smoker I hated smoking on airplanes, it was just too cramped and sucked.  My eyes were bloodshot afterwards :-).  Thats my excuse anyway.  ^5 to everyone except Eupher.

I rarely smoked on airplanes when it was allowed. Kudos to you MD11bubblechaser for NOT being a smoke Nazi. My ex Mother in Law used to light up at the table during holiday meals. I couldn't stand it!! I bit my tongue, however, because we were usually at her house. I'd just excuse myself and go into some other room. Even though I still smoke, there are common courtesies I still follow.

I was the same way when I was still able to smoke, Thor, although when I was younger, I was kind of rude about it.

For instance, I used to like to smoke during sex, although this one chick really lost her shit cause the ashtray kept sliding off her ass.

I did make a conscious effort after that to be more respectful of my surroundings.

Well, we got sidetracked a bit with the smoking issue (who's the freakin' Nazi about smoking NOW, Thor?  :rotf: ), so if we can once again return to  :bitchslap:, I'd be grateful.

Thanks to Tots for her sensibility and a h5 to her. An additional h5 (when I can) to HNC for his new-found non-habit.

Instead of smoking, you can learn how to macrame. Or work out your heightened levels of pisstivity by rudimental drumming.

Ain't they about the same anyway?
