The parents of Luis Santos say they will file a lawsuit against Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The parents of Luis Santos, the student who was stabbed during a fight that involved former Speaker Fabian Nunez's son, say they will file a lawsuit against Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The attorneys for Fred Santos say ex-Governor Schwarzenegger violated the family's constitutional rights under Marcy's law.

The voter-approved amendment requires victims of crimes, including family, be notified of parole hearings in advance, so they have a chance to be heard at a hearing.

Was there a parole hearing?
My CCW permit was issued in 1791.

Was there a parole hearing?

I don't think so. So I'm not sure this law would apply to the governor granting clemency.

Executive pardon powers are normally something entirely separate from parole hearings, they are paper appeals (Or even possible for the executive to self-initiate) and are a plenary, nonreviewable power...UNLESS Californistan has hosed that up too.
