Bingo. They're simply trying to convey the idea to their constituents that playing nice-nice is going to make everything peachy-keen.

The comments about Zyklon-B are out of line, IMO. They sound hard-ass as hell, but that kind of talk is just that - talk.

Congress has an obligation to be civil - but that doesn't mean you have to be uncivil, especially when war is being waged. By all means, Boehner & Co should be taking no prisoners, but in an appropriate way.

So, does this mean we don't have ride in the back of the bus anymore?
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

The Repubs are too stupid to realize the Democraps stab them in the back every chance they get. More fraternizing with these critters is stupid.

Thats all this is - TV is all about image - and when America sees how much Obama has lost, many more fence-sitters will give consideration to being on the winning team.

Always remember - Democrats only like 'bipartisanship' when they are behind. When they control the agenda, bipartisanship goes out the window and under the tires.

Momentum builds for bipartisan State of the Union seating

Momentum is building to mix the traditionally partisan seating arrangements at the State of the Union later this month, even though there’s no clear plan for how to actually make that happen.

Several Senate Republicans have signed on to the effort, along with a few key House leaders, who have endorsed Democratic Sen. Mark Udall’s proposal to head across the aisle – literally – and sit with members of the opposite party during the annual address on Jan. 25.

All told, more than two dozen members of Congress have publicly endorsed the idea. >>>

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) announced Friday she is now “co-leader” of the initiative, supported by GOP colleagues Sen. John McCain, Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe, Maine Sen. Susan Collins and New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte.

**************

When will the repuke leadership get the message? The Dimms are spinning into dog poop over thier losses and they don't know how to lessen its' effects. This is just a stunt to fool people who watch the SOTU speech to forget how few Demagogues there are left in the House and to make it look like the entire place is cheering and applauding.

This is not what we voted for and not what we expect. If they had any real stones, they would get up en masse and walk out in the middle of Kommisar Barry Mussolini's, Lie of the Union Address.

More style over substance BS.

I think it's time to start calling our representatives to let them know that we didn't vote for them to make useless gestures to appease superficial liberals, but to govern according to the Constitution and to repeal bad liberal legislation.

So if Obama attacks the Supreme Court like he did last year, does that mean that the Republicans have to applaud him for it?  All in the spirit of bipartisanship, don't ya know.

So the half dozen or so RINO's that usually embrace the touchy-feely bullshit from the left constitutes "momentum"!  After the shellacking the left got, the Republicans better not do this. I think it's important for the country to see how much the balance of power has shifted, thus how important their vote was. Well, that and if I have to listen to days and days of replays, I want to look at the chamber and gloat and laugh my ass.

We only managed to gain a certain amount of true TEA party candidates, may of the old faces are still there, waiting to carry out politics as usual.

I don't give a rat **** on a soda cracker where people sit.

What matters is this idiotic gesture is giving linkage to the act of a deranged mind to political discourse. It would be akin to investigating Jewish bankers to quell the squealing from Nazi pigs about why the Weimar was such a miserable failure. This ridiculous circus stunt is giving credence to slander built off the corpses of the innocent to stifle debate among free people.

Maybe the RINOs are to blame but the RINO to TEA Party ratio is of such secondary concern as to not even ping my radar.

So let me get this straight:

1. Deranged idiot shoots up people in Arizona.
2. Democrats go on immediate offensive blaming GOP et al.
3. Rhetoric goes viral.
4. Deranged idiot exposed as lunatic, but rhetoric doesn't abate.
5. Now Democrats demand, because of the rhetoric THEY caused, that Congress be intermixed.
6. The usual suspects on "our" side, led by Udall, McCain, and the Maine RINOs, support the idea.

So now there will be no discernible identification of participants when cheers are made for Obama. They cannot be singled as a party. When they were in the majority, keep in mind they wanted the republicans to sit in the back.

There's nothing official yet on this, is there, from Boehner? Rush just said exactly what I wrote--that this is about hiding their decreased numbers (and disguising Republicans' increased numbers).
