Would you have ever supported Obama?
« on: December 26, 2010, 06:40:04 PM »
Lets assume were back during the presidential race, was there ever a time you supported Obama? What would he have had to do for your support in the early days?

Just wondering.

He condones and supports infanticide.  Just one of many issues he is on the wrong side of.

No, never.

There is not a single policy I have agreed with from Obama.  And I don't think that will change in the near future.

Not a snowball's chance in hell. My dad, and I knew what he was on the campaign trail, and so did many others. The problem is that the majority of Americans got wrapped up in the "hopey changey" BS. I tend to support good, decent people. He misses on both counts.

There was a man I listened to at the 2004 democratic convention that gave me goosebumps -- although there was no substance whatsoever to what he was saying, the way he spoke to the crowd was almost magical.

You can't teach that.  You are born with it.   Say what you want about Sarah Palin, she has that gift also.

I said at that time, this man gets groomed properly by the DNC? he will be unbeatable.    Well, politically he instead went from crawling to running and skipped walking altogether.    The walking part being rather critical.

He sucks as a president.   There is never a time I would have supported him however as his political beliefs are detrimental to our country.

Sure, if his political beliefs were just about the exact opposite of what they are.

What little there is of his record as a senator in Springfield, and his even smaller record in the Senate in Washington were more than ample evidence to never support him.  Then throw in the fact that he never faced any opposition in his other campaigns, due to his dirty politics.  :bird: him.

I would wholeheartedly support Obama if he got on television one night in 2012 and said, "Accordingly, I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your President."

Not that it would have changed my vote, but if he'd ever produced his birth certificate I would have at least conceded his qualification on paper to be in the presidential race.
As for the rest, the reason Hillary, and later John and Sarah, lost, was because this smooth talking SOB came on to the American people like a cheap ho, promising much and delivering nothing.  Except a case of political herpes, that is. :bird:

Hardly.  He was clearly the least-qualified of all four Prez/VP candidates, with no apparent relevant experience whatsoever.  His entire resume boiled down to helping ACORN suck tax money out of entitlement programs as an apparatchik, being able to read aloud well, and looking Black-but-not-TOO-Black.  On top of that he is a child of the Chicago Democrat machine, which means he is four-square for a ton of bad ideas ranging from RKBA to the value of unions to economic theories that would be transparently foolish to anyone smart enough to steer clear of Ponzi schemes and emails from Nigeria.

I wouldnt even support McCain let alone obama. Both candidates stunk to high heaven.

But Odumbo was the worst.

I didnt like Bush (the 'compassionate' conservative) either, but he was the lesser of 2 evils. (in the first primaries I voted Steve Forbes) But americans are generally a vain lot indeed. If somebody looks prettier or does a better job of selling snake oil - then the media will support him or her and the sheeple will vote him into power.

Btw -  'compassionate' conservative is code for RINO.

Hasnt been anything worth a pot to piss in since Reagan.

People forget .. he (Reagan) ran 3 times before he got elected. And he always had a democrat majority congress he had to deal with. Conservatism is a completely unnatural act for 99% of politicians because it empowers the governed (the voters) over the governors (the government). Its the reason President Washington returned to his home after his term was done when he could have been King. He set the example for all presidents to follow. Until Roosevelt anyways. Its just too easy to get 'drunk' on the power - as obama is finding out now. Its all too human.

But if we simply allow them to shred the constitution as they are doing now (both partys) - then all bets are off. Rome fell the same way. Without the rule of law - what have you got? We are currently in what can be described as a 'soft tyranny'. Guess what follows if we dont stop and reverse it? As sure as communism follows socialism.

Can you guess the diff between communism and socialism?

As much as I disliked and dislike McCain, there was never a time I supported Obama.

With all due respect, that's a pretty ****in' stupid question to ask on a forum called Conservative Cave.

Were you born stupid or is it something you had to train for ?

So? You considered it important enough to respond to it.
