We should offer him a membership here once he gets The 'Stone...

...which won't be long after this.

First, the back-story:

U.S. program to deport criminal illegal immigrants has deported high percentages of noncriminals in

Source: TWP

Despite vows by the Obama administration to focus its immigration enforcement efforts on criminals, a quarter of those who have been deported through a program called Secure Communities had not been convicted of committing any crime, government statistics show. And that percentage was vastly higher in some jurisdictions, including Prince George's County, where two-thirds of the 86 undocumented immigrants were not criminals.

And the newspeakâ„¢ goes on for another 3 paragraphs. Then the 1IdFM speaketh truth to power:

4. Am I missing something?

Isn't arresting and deporting people who are in the country illegally what ICE is supposed to do?

6. Yes, you are missing several things.

1. Our economy depends on illegal immigrants. If they are all deported, or even if many are deported randomly and senselessly it will undermine our economy even more and worse than it already is.

2. Obama promised that this program would be deporting illegal imegrants who had broken some law. They were not going to be deported just because they were here illegally. So these people who have been deported who were law-abiding while they were here represent a broken promise from the President, and/or a violation of the policy mandated by the president.

3. This is happening at the very same time that we are pushing the Dream Act, which offers a way for illegal immigrants to become legal immigrants. It is disingenuous at best to say that we are going to offer them a way to become legal citizens if we are simultaneously rounding them up and kicking them out of the country.

4. ICE has a history of being over-zealous.

ICE has a history of occasionally deporting US Citizens because they don't believe they are citizens, just because they are Hispanic and speak Spanish. Those people are then left in Mexico with no proof of citizenship and have to get someone in the US to come and get them with proof of who they are to bring them back. This happens to people who are disabled and can't defend themselves from ICE. ICE neither apologizes nor does anything to prevent this from happening again.

They have also been known to deport people who had hearings pending to get either green cards or asylum, and ignored that. They didn't care Imigration already knew someone was here and that someone was on track to be here legally. If they could deport someone, that was their only goal.

So whenever ICE is going above and beyond what law and policy calls for to find and deport people, everyone else needs to be concerned about what ICE is really doing, and what rights are being ignored, and who is being victimized along the way in the name of efficiency.

Just because they exist to enforce immigration rules doesn't mean that they exist to do it ruthlessly.

7. Came through Ellis Island in 1954

Edited on Tue Dec-21-10 03:22 AM by one-eyed fat man
My perspective must be clouded by the fact we had to have a sponsor, visas and all that 'silly legal stuff.' Had a green card when it was still green and resident aliens had to register at the Post Office every January.

Had to wait seven years to apply for naturalization, took a test and everything. Went on to serve 26 years in the US Army.

"So these people who have been deported who were law-abiding while they were here represent a broken promise from the President, and/or a violation of the policy mandated by the president."

Law abiding, except for that being here illegally part. Unless you are saying his promise amounted to a Presidential pardon.

There are immigrants in Mexico, Guatemala, or any of a hundred countries around the globe in line in US Embassies going through the process legally.

But apparently, no need to do all that, sneak past the Border Patrol and you qualify for amnesty.

can't get "legal stuff" and apparently don't want to let their families drop dead just to suit you. Too bad.

Ya know, it's funny.

Whenever one of these colon steamers talks about leaving the US in a fit of piquee they always carry-on about how you have to have a passport, demonstrable skills and enough money to not weigh on the host nation's social services, i.e. France and that's why they never leave.

I just thought I'd throw that in there.

Take a number, take a seat, wait your turn is the system. Why would you want to penalize those who follow the law and encourage those who don't?

Just because someone sneaks in and isn't caught at the border he should get a pass?

The Mexican farmer wouldn't be displaced if you quit smoking that shit or at least demanded dead Mexican free dope.

It worked for tuna.

Nuke-a-licious!

Although I could do without the imagery of Beth's skirt blowing up and her mud flaps slapping about in the wind.

26. The right to due process does not mean

they have the right to be here. It does not mean that they have the right to forged documents. It does not mean they have the right to steal your identity to trick someone into giving them a job.

Due process means if they are determined to be here illegally through a fair immigration hearing, then they get deported.

Due process does not mean they get to avoid deportation just because except for the being here illegally part they haven't done anything else illegal too.

1. Our economy depends on illegal immigrants.
This is a big fat lie that has been told so many times by the pro legal activists that the DUmmies accept it as true.

California is flat broke and is estimating a 24-26 Billion$$ deficit this year.  It has been estimated that illegals are taking 12 billion $ a year in services from the State and local agencies. Then there are the scores of American workers (construction or restrauant workers as an example) who have been displaced by dirt cheap illegal labor.

So how in the **** does our economy depend on illegal aliens?  illegals are killing our economy, not supporting it.

There is a huge difference between types of immigrants. The law-abiding ones, who persevere to gain legal permanent residency, and then ultimately citizenship, have shown deep appreciation for the promise of America. They work, learn English, and may very well become Republicans. The illegal wetbacks are beloved by democrats because as soon as amnesty can be arranged they'll become multi-generational welfare recipients, and almost sure democrat votes.

The sole objective of "immigration reform" is to manufacture democrat votes in fast-growing, electoral-vote-rich states like Arizona, Texas, and Florida. With enough mexican votes, all three could turn blue.

My Idea of Comprehensive Immigration Reform:

1. Illegal aliens are to be detained upon detection and deported within twenty-four hours.

2. Any citizen knowingly employing, sheltering, concealing, or otherwise assisting (other than emergency medical care) an illegal alien shall suffer forfeiture of all property, real and personal, all assets, businesses, business licenses, and any other thing except his/her physical freedom and two changes of clothing; after which he/she may seek employment and start over.

3. Any non-citizen legally resident, acting as described in para 2 above, shall suffer the same penalty and be deported to his/her country of origin within 48 hours.

4. Any public official, in any branch of government, at any level, who under color of clemency, legal discretion, or other official privilege, shall obstruct, alter, or modify the swift application and extent of paras 1-3 above to any degree soever, shall suffer the same penalty and be summarily removed from office.

(That’s to keep judges from saying “ooooo, that’s too harsh” and governors etc. from handing out pardons to business-owner buddies.)

My CCW permit was issued in 1791.

"Our economy depends on illegal immigrants. If they are all deported, or even if many are deported randomly and senselessly it will undermine our economy even more and worse than it already is."

Our economy does not depend on illegal immigrants. There are millions of Americans who will do "the jobs Americans won't do". Do you know how hard it is for an ex-con to get a second chance in society? They don't get hired as bank tellers or accountants. They have to take "the jobs that Americans won't do".

"Obama promised that this program would be deporting illegal imegrants (sic) who had broken some law. They were not going to be deported just because they were here illegally. So these people who have been deported who were law-abiding while they were here represent a broken promise from the President, and/or a violation of the policy mandated by the president."

You support the executive branch picking and choosing which laws have to be followed? You must have been extremely pleased with the last administration.

"This is happening at the very same time that we are pushing the Dream Act, which offers a way for illegal immigrants to become legal immigrants. It is disingenuous at best to say that we are going to offer them a way to become legal citizens if we are simultaneously rounding them up and kicking them out of the country."

As of Saturday the DREAM Act is no longer being pushed for.

"ICE has a history of being over-zealous."

ICE has only existed for 8 years. There isn't much history there.

Being illegally in the country is straight out stealing.

They steal jobs.
They steal education.
They steal scarce social services.
They steal scarce medical services.
They steal our tax dollars.

BTW at 10% unemployment, the illegals are not keeping our economy going.  They are keeping our economy in the crapper.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Beth, you ignorant @^#!

There's a reason we never ever buy or eat Mexican produce.

Quote
Thousands of refusal reports in the FDA database show exports to the United States from Mexico include food products described as “poisonous” and “filthy.”

Salmonella was found in lobster tails, shrimp, fresh cooked crabmeat, chocolate candies, cantaloupes, pumpkin seeds, cilantro cooking sauce, instant tea, rice flour, ground guajillo pepper, oregano, fresh basil, and several types of tea from Mexico.
*  Listeria, foodborne bacteria that can cause stillbirths among pregnant women was found in mahi mahi ceviche, avocado pulp and “organic” zesty guacamole imported from Mexico.
*  Aflatoxin, a toxic substance which can cause liver cancer or cirrhosis was found on Japanese-style peanuts, pumpkin seeds and chocolate-covered mazapan from Mexico.

Earlier this year Hershey announced it was eliminating 1,500 jobs while boosting production at its plant in Monterrey, Mexico.

The FDA OASIS (Operational and Administrative System for Import Support) refusal reports show five shipments of Hershey candy from Mexico was blocked in March due to salmonella contamination. Another shipment from Hershey’s Mexico plant was blocked for salmonella contamination last January. The shipments contained Hershey “Kisses". A report by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) states salmonella is the leading cause of death (31%) among foodborne illnesses in the United States.

A Coalition for a Prosperous America analysis of FDA refusals from Mexico in the past year shows a whopping 8,969 cases of candy treats, including lollipops, gummy treats and hard candies were blocked from import because they were “filthy,” contained color additives unsafe for consumption or were deemed “poisonous.” "Filthy" refers to the practice of using sewage water for irrigation.
In August, 91 cases of Mexican shrimp were refused due to salmonella. That dangerous pathogen was found again in 56 cases of shrimp exported from Mexico to the United States in November. One attempted shipment of swordfish from Mexico was refused because it was “poisonous.”

Food and Drug Administration inspectors, by the agency’s own admission, only examine about 1.5% of all imports.

There's a reason we never ever buy or eat Mexican produce.

I almost died because of tainted Mexican onions.  They had hepititis A on them.  The way that happens is when human feces gets on produce.  So in other words some Mexican shit on  the onion I ate.  But, I am not bitter about it at all...

Might I add that they steal through driving without a license and/or insurance.  Decent folks have to pay for the damages illegals cause on our roadways, monetarily or with their very lives.  The illegal causing the damage or loss of life gets escorted across the border only to walk back across in a few hours and begin the process all over again.

Beth thinks that illegals bolster SS with billions and billions and billions of dollars?  From what I've seen, a lot of these people work under the table.  I guess I'm naive about this stuff, as I've never snuck around a foreign country illegally, and my first husband did it all the legal way.  Don't you have to have valid SS numbers and everything above board to contribute all these zillions of dollars?

44. Silly word games.
Running a red light, crossing the border, reusing postage stamps, using forged documents, are all against the law, by definition that makes those acts illegal.

People who do things which are illegal are scofflaws and criminals.

If I sneak into your house, how long do I need to stay there before you can no longer throw me out?

Is it inside-out day at the DUmp?  Who is this guy and how has he amassed over 1k posts flying under their 'you're making too much sense' radar?
