Quote
State regulators passed a "cap-and-trade" framework to let companies buy and sell permits, giving them an incentive to emit fewer gases.

The aim is to create the second-largest market in the field, after Europe's.

20 percent unemployment, last time I checked.  Then again, CA is around 12 percent, so they've got some catching up to do.

And this should work out just fine for Commiefornia.
What else would you expect from the liberals? :mental:

Seems like it'd be a damned sight easier to just relocate any manufacturing out of state and get re-chartered in your new home, unless you are a Napa Valley winery or something of the sort that just can't do that.

Well, that would be the logical thing to do.

On the plus side, BEG should be able to relocate again when her hubby's company decides to depart Commiefornia for a red state.  For her sake, let's hope it's Texas.

I smoke....a lot. If I quit, can I sell my surplus carbon credits?

You're thinking too small, form two corporations - one is you planting trees in your back yard to carbon bank, the other is a holding company that buys your cigarettes wholesale which you lose in tragic but unclaimed small inventory fires every 20 minutes or so.  Buy and sell carbon credits between the two and put any excess carbon bank capacity into the exchange.

You'll be a California millionaire in no time, and probably get some kind of conservation award from Governor Moonbeam.
