I've noted a concerned effort to paint Assange as the worst person in history while not assigning any blame to the gate keepers of the Obama Regime. I also noted that the regime didn't give a crap when the Afghanistan leak went out but got it's panties in a wad when it embarrasses them.

To Recap;
1. Under the smartest president and SS in our history, a lowly private got out hundreds of thousands of secret+ papers and memos.
2. When these leaks did harm to our service people and their Afghanistan allies it is not a big deal.
3. If the WIKILeaks show that Obama regime is naive and amateurish, the regime go after them hard.
4. Assange is not a US citizen and therefore not a traitor. Yet he gets arrested for not having sex with a condom. That is totalitarianism of the state and i don't agree with it at all.  First they came for the guys without condoms, since I used a condom.....


I wrestle with these leaks but it was the regimes fault for letting them out. I think the leaks on the lies and corruption that our government is engaged in should see the light of day. The regime is constantly denying FOIA requests. The leaks that directly could get people killed such as Afghanistan people that are working with us is clearly bad. The leaks that embarrass our young inexperienced president and our incompetent SecState not so much. I almost think it is good. If these memos are truly so dangerous then our gatekeepers should be sacked.

On 1-3, exactly, jukin.  You are right on #4 in that he isn't a traitor (Though since Australia sent forces as an ally of ours, he may be a traitor to them) but he IS a spy and perhaps an unlawful combatant or an enemy combatant.  The sex offense issue is wholly something between him and whatever weird Swedish laws apply to it, and it has nothing to do with the whole leak affair.  Unreported in the US press is the fact that sex crimes and even sexual assaults are much less serious offenses in most of Europe than they are here, so even for a violent assault (Which doesn't seem to be the case) he wouldn't be looking at all that much time even if the Swedes convicted him.

Also worthy of note, as soon as that key goes out, he has exactly zero handle over anyone anymore.

I don't think he could. The intel community is very compartmentalized and each little acronym agency jealously guards its own little fiefdom. No way one person, regardless of who he's blowing, would have access to all that information.
