Ever hang around any wealthy people? Ever notice they don't pay for anything?
 Advertisements [?]
They go out for a nice dinner and the restaurant owner picks up the tab and thanks them for coming in. No money exchanges hands. Ever see that happen? About 20 years ago I found my personal doctor wandering around the front offices of the Ford plant I worked at like he was lost. He was lost. I asked him how he was, and what was he doing there? He said he was there to pick up his car. I said we don't sell cars at this factory. He gave me the name of some guy who he was supposed to see. The name was familiar and I knew where his office was and pointed my doctor in the right direction and bid him ado. I later found out that Ford had some kind of purchase program for doctors, lawyers and other wealthy professional people. They didn't even have to go through a dealer. Keep in mind this was at this time they still didn't give us employees a break on our cars we bought. We had to negotiate that into one of our contracts years later.

Can anyone else think of any situations where the wealthy get free or reduced pricing like this?

Well, one wonders what sort of freebies Dem lawmakers get.

I'll bet Barney Frank got a lot, although now that he's diminished, probably not so much any more.

I'll bet just about every Dem politician in Illinois and California gets a lot of freebies.

Don can stop posting his nonsense now; he's already on the ballot for top primitive.

The fact that this DUmmy thinks that Lawyers and Doctor's are part of the Super Wealthy class just shows how disconnected their perception is from reality.

I work with Lawyers, and yes, they make more than I do, but they are hardly super rich.  Okay, maybe the partner is, but most are not.

A lot has to do with who you know. Fer instance... I worked in a restaurant next door to an auto parts place. I made a deal with them... they got employee discounts when they came over for lunch and we got employee discounts when we bought auto parts. I can see a doctor having a patient that was fairly high up at the plant and said patient tells him to come on down and he/she would give them an employee discount.

This goes on at all levels of society. An electrician and a HVAC guy might cut each other a little break. An auto mechanic and a tool salesman might cut each other a break.

It happens you stupid fool. Maybe if you had a job you would understand that.

Lawyers... on the other hand...  :fuelfire:

Yeah.....this one earns a minus number:

Although there have been factory "driveaway" programs available for decades, they are not limited to professionals, however the bolded part is a lie.....

Ford has had an employee purchase program (even for hourly employees) since 1929........Henry Ford's entire concept was based on building vehicles that his employees could afford.......

http://www.detnews.com/article/20101130/POLITICS03/11300410/

At the above link is a story about Rep. Conyers (D - Mich) son driving Conyer's taxpayer-provided 2010 Escalade and having 2 laptops and $27K in concert tickets stolen.  Apparently there is a law against personal use of provided vehicles and Conyers says he's sorry.

Why are we providing this character an Escalade?  Is that standard issue for reps?

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Yes, it was my friend. I apologize for the confusion.  :cheersmate:

That happened to me not long ago when I thought someone was calling me out. Turns out he was talking about the dummy.

Again, I apologize for the confusion.

These things happen.

I've been here since January 3, 2008, and I've never seen one member call another member out.

If something sounds as if an insult directed against one, it's just an innocent mistake in grammar or emphasis, and not really directed at the other member.

You mean like Hollywood Celebrities who stump for Democrats? people like Barbara Streisand who when stumping for Mayor Dinkins tried to tell people to stop using their AC and Dryers, and when questioned on whether or not Barbara heeds the advice she gives her Assistant said "that's ridiculous"?

  • Oh snap!
When I worked for a small loan company that dealt with loans for active duty military, our boss bought all of us lunch A LOT.  At least twice a month.  Every birthday, he got us a cake and lunch.  He was the nicest guy ever.  He even paid for two weeks of my daughter's daycare.

He wasn't a millionaire, but I'm going to guess he made well over $250,000 a year.

Another DUchebag that has taken a movie or TV episode for reality.

I've got a hunski that says should a professional mental health worker ever evaluate the DUmp 98% of them would be classified clinically insane and deeply mentally ill with delusions of grandeur and little to no grasp on reality.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

DUmmies love going on about barter economies (dude, there's like... no money) then get upset when someone uses said system. :lmao:

SACRAMENTO —
California lawmakers enjoy a perk that seems like luxurious amenity in a state that has been slashing billions of dollars from its budget: taxpayer-provided cars.

The state purchases cars for lawmakers to drive around their districts and the capital under a decades-old program, spending more than $5 million for the latest suite of vehicles that includes a $55,000 Cadillac sedan and a $52,000 Lexus hybrid.

Lawmakers are enjoying the benefit at a time when the state is in a financial mess and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has called legislators into a special session next week to address a $6 billion deficit. Lawmakers have already cut programs such as adult dental care and health care programs for children from low-income families, and more cutbacks are on the way.
California lawmakers keep car perks

BTW, for anyone who isn't already aware of this, the California legislature is primarily made up of democrats.

 :bs2flag:

This has to be a joke ??

Anyone that gets a job from anyone and makes money for the company will get freebie's.

So why not the people working for the State or towns?

The town next door had a problem, the Chief of the fire department was using town property to fill his girlfriends swimming pool.

Who complained, the friend of the Chiefs wife.

Just saying that this in a grass roots problem, happens every day every where.  Not the pool filling but other things that we never hear about until some man crosses his wife.

I have hung around wealthy people. Some pay for everything. Some get miffed if you pay. They're the ones who own a business that has money rolling in and activly work at it. Others are to cheap to get in any situation where they have to buy anything. They've hoarded every nickel they've ever seen, that's why they're rich.

Yeah, I've worked with doctors for quite some time and yes, they make good money.  Super rich, not even close.  I also don't think Med school was all that cheap for them either.

Did they get their homes and yachts for free? Is Rolex churning out free watches? There are entire industries devoted to getting the rich to spend their money, they aren't volunteers.

Remember when Klinton put the luxury tax on boats and yachts? Thinking that rich people are dumb and would buy their yacht anyway he killed the manufacturers of boats and yachts in the USA.

There is more to this liberalism is a mental disease than just fun. These people think that if you tax cigarettes it will deter their use.  However, if you tax investments, somehow you will get more investment. If you subsidize a industry you will get more of that industry. However, if subsidize unemployment you will get less unemployment.

Which brings me to the question of the chicken or the egg.  Does one have to be mentally ill to accept the contrariness policies that are liberalism or is that by accepting contrariness policies that are liberalism make you mentally unstable.  Either way the end result is the same.
