Once again, Glenn Beck deliberately misleads his viewers.

I wonder if Glenn Beck has any viewers that actually believe his bullshit. His book sales indicate he does.

Lately he's been terrorizing his viewers with the devastating inflationary effects that we will see due to QE2. Today, on his TV show he announced that his forecasts are coming true. Walmart, The Gap, and J C Penney all announced a 30% rise in the price of cotton in China. The fact of the price increase is correct. It's not due to QE2 but to the worldwide demand for cotton and a shortage in its supply:

Gap Inc., J.C. Penney Co. and other U.S. retailers may have to pay Chinese suppliers as much as 30 percent more for clothes as surging cotton prices boost costs.

“It’s a little terrifying to deal with cotton suppliers now,” said Vicky Wu, a sales manager at Suzhou Unitedtex Enterprise Ltd., a closely held, Jiangsu province-based clothes maker that counts Gap and J.C. Penney among its clients.

Cotton futures in China have surged more than 70 percent this year and were at a record earlier as the global economy emerged from recession, allowing people to spend more on clothes. Production of the fiber in China, the world’s biggest user and importer, is forecast to lag behind demand for a 12th year, cutting its stockpile to the smallest since 1995, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

“American consumers better get used to rising prices on the shelves of Wal-Mart and other retailers,” said Jessica Lo, Shanghai-based managing director at China Market Research Group. “China’s manufacturers are getting squeezed not only by rising cotton costs but also soaring real estate and labor costs.”

I think I will believe Beck on economic issues way before I trust you goons on it.
Anyone with a brain knows the act of "printing money" out of thin air will devalue the dollar. People in other countries will simply raise their prices to compensate. It's already happening with oil.

3. I know glen becK is a lying sack of goat excrement. I never watch, listen or

pay him any attention.

I often wonder why DU'ers subject themselves to that drivel. And why they feel compelled to propagate becKs poison on DU.

Yep you never heard him utter a single word yet you know he is lying.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

With all the money we've printed in the last 2 years, we're going to have inflation.  You'd have to be an idiot not to recognize that, which explains why the primitives don't get it.  Even without a shortage of cotton we would have had inflation and the price of cotton clothes would go up.  So if there really is a shortage, it's only going to add to the high inflation that was already coming.

I'm taking Beck seriously.  He's been right on a lot of things.

My husband & I came to the decision that we will buy our daughter one new toy and the rest will be clothing for Christmas.  I'll be buying in sizes all the way up to 5T for now.  If Beck is wrong about the inflation on cotton, who cares?  It only leaves us with clothes that our daughter will eventually wear.

I take this same stance on food storage.  If he's wrong, we're not out anything.  We will have extra food.  So what?

Rising cotton prices + devalued dollar due to QE2 = higher clothing prices.

Exactly ColonialMarie0431! Not to mention hyper-inflation because of the excess of printed money. DUmmies just don't understand this.

The primitives will see the effects of QE2 when a dime bag goes to $20 and not one second sooner.

We're limiting that derision for those who depend upon Cheetos as a primary food source and fap themselves to the point their junk is permanently stained orange.

We're doing that for food.  We'll be putting it into our walk-in closet soon, but there's not too many places we can put it in our apartment.

It's interesting when they will recognize Supply and Demand and when they won't.  Not to mention there isn't one word in the OP or the reply that was brought over about how the EVIL Chinese Capitalists are just taking advantage of the poor.

We also rent.

We have some good storage places on top of the pantry that we bought a few months ago.  Our other unit that we were in didn't have enough room at ALL.  I plan on buying some of those plastic storage shelves at Walmart and putting them in our walk in closet after I get all of the clothes that I no longer need to a donation center.

POTATONOMICS, you can't argue with it.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Exactimundo.  I don't think Beck is necessarily right on a lot of stuff and tends to dramatically overstate things, but it's pretty clear he has at least gathered data and actually thought through his positions.

Actually a bag of Cheetoes brand cheeze treats probably costs as much a dime bag.

I suspect dummies only buy store brand. :-)

So far, what Glenn was talking about on his show a week is ago is almost coming to fruition. The stock market doesn't look so ho now a days. The price of commodities are up, i.e., food and cotton.
The only way DUmmies understand what is happening is when it hits them in their wallets. Then, the blinders come off all of a sudden.

I would have told her to start buying her own food NOW.

I've been warning my family for months now.  We have a small food storage right now, but it's only about three weeks worth.  We need more.  But if anyone in my family told me they were coming to my house if hungry, I'd laugh in their faces.

It sounds mean, but most people refuse to do anything for themselves and they expect to hop on board with someone else.  Forget that.  You better have a gun in my face, and fire your gun quicker than I can if you want my food.
