Well, I just joined America's Jobless this morning

I came to Georgia for a job. After working for five long years here (in a very, very RW place) I was called in this morning to be told that my job was one of the ones that was "targeted, as they call it here. I was the only one in my dept (so far).

This is all a part of the "processes improvement" our hospital has been undertaking. I am not a nurse, but many of them are being let go, too.

So, I am feeling pretty pissed off right now. I will be relocating from Georgia in the next few months, I hope.

Just wanted to share that with my DU family.

Peace for now.

Don't be sad, Nancy Pelosi said Unemployment checks help create jobs. So, you will be helping to create jobs.
If you are real lucky you can get food stamps too and really help the economy.
Hope and change in action for you.

17. Yes.

The funny, funny part is - I am the only Dem there. Oh, and this is Obama's fault. Oh, I could write a ****ing book on what I have seen and heard these last five years.

Well Obama is in charge now. He promised hope and change. He failed to deliver. But, you can blame Bush and feel better.

As a liberal, I hope I am fairly proficient at landing on my feet. I guess I shall see now.

Nah liberals don't land on their feet. They lie down and wait for someone to pull them up.

Maybe I am being mean for not having any sympathy.
But, she voted for this and supports the same failed policies continuing.
I may feel sorry for her being deceived by Obama's talking points though.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

I don't know why any free citizen would want to move to California.  Yes, I've heard outside of Fagtown and Gangtown (SF and LA) it's lie a whole 'nuther state, but even so...

Wow...my day got going with a very nice compliment from the VP of my area and how we would have a discussion soon about the larger role I could play at the company in the future and how to develop that. I started 2 months ago after being a stay at home mother for the better part of 12 years. Full time work too.  I know this is a DUmmie, but when I read things like this, I feel very grateful for what I have, even with a bitch of a commute!

I can't imagine what it's like in a state like Ohio or California, but I got laid off from my job in May.  I was able to pick up a couple months of work here and there, but mostly spent my time sending out resumes.  It sucked.  I finally landed a great job a month ago and they'll have to drag me kicking and screaming out the door, but they're one of the few companies that are expanding and I was lucky enough to get the job.

Honestly, I was about to give up permanently on finding another job in the IT field and consign myself to a miserable life of customer service and retail.  I can't believe how lucky I am that I got this job.  I am super stoked and I love the job even if it isn't the most challenging one out there.

Now i just need to pay off my student loans.

We moved to CA from Texas (Dallas) the end of July 2009. My husband had to move because of his job. I want to go back home (although the weather is nice....that is about it).

NH has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation.

Unfortunately, there are damned few jobs which will provide a good standard of living, given that the business climate in this state has gone to shit over the last couple of years, thanks to Governor "Do-Nothing" Lynch and a Dem Legislature.  They had a hiring fair for security officers at the plant, going at around $18/hour.  They had a shitload of applicants, including Sheriff's deputies who don't even make that much.  I honestly don't see how they can live even on that salary.

Hopefully that'll change with the GOP in charge again.

Hey my wife has been out of work for over a year sending out resumes and going to interviews almost every day. She is starting a $10 an hour job working in a kitchen of an old folks home tomorrow. It's less than unemployment but its a foot in the door and honest work. She was making $30 an hour when laid off! There are NO jobs here in this part of NY. That's the way conservatives roll. Get a job and go to work.
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

I'm so happy for Chris and jtyangel!  Good on you!   :cheersmate:

cats, I didn't know you were a NYer too.  I'm in North Country, and jobs are very scarce here.  It's all either food-related or government.  I'm glad your wife found something for now.  Work is better for the soul than collecting checks.

$18/hour??  If it wasn't for the fact that my wife and I are about to buy a cheap (because of the recession) house here in Michiganistan, I'd consider the move.  We're doing pretty good on less than $14/hour.  No overtime either.

This is a teachable moment.  Where does the freshly laid off Obama voter think of going to get a job?  One of the five states with the highest unemployment. I'll tell the DUchebag right now that unless it speaks spanish it will not get a job in any kalifornai hospital.

Having never partaken of unemployment insurance benefits, I thought it was a state program.  How could one move to another state and get their benefits shipped out to them?

I forgot, Dennis Miller (I really like his radio show) says if he had to lay off people in these times his first move would be to go out to the parking lot and look for Obama and democrat bumper stickers and then fire those people first. He thinks they should live up to their principles (I use that term loosely) and be the first to deal with their actions and ideals.

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Well, I just joined America's Jobless this morning

Somewhere in Georgia, workers at a hospital are noticing how much more pleasant the workplace has become, and how much more smoothly things seem to be going this week.

 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Seriously though.  I had a year bout of unemployment after 9/11.  Single and paying my Mom's mortgage in the states, as she was living in Canada.  :whatever:  (She's a Moonbat, that fancies herself as a Republican.)  I learned a lot about sacrifice that year.  Worked as many odd jobs as I could, and made it through, without having my Mom's house foreclosed on.  Even though she had an ARM.  Ugh.  At any rate, I don't wish any of that on anyone. In retrospect, I am happy for that experience, I tested my mettle more than I ever had, and realized I was a lot stronger than I ever imagined.  I also learned, that even in Texas summer heat, if you don't have your water heater working, the water is still friggin ice cold!

Good luck and good searching to all out there looking for a job.
