Glad to oblige.
Now that the shock has worn off, WTF ARE THEY THINKING ?!?!?!?!?
I need some help in understanding this. I hope DAT weighs in. There's a lot I don't get.
Do the justices VOTE on which cases to review and which to shitcan? If not, who decides? Just what earthshaking worthy-of-the-SCOTUS legal basis is so fuggin' important?
Well, the rights of a wife when her husband dies to start with, or the rights of a man when his wife dies.
What about the children from either step children or natural born children for instance. Don't children have the right to inherit from a parent that dies or to collect on moneys owed to that parent.?
What a mess, woman marries millionare and he dies. His kids come in to claim all his money leaving the wife out in the cold. It is none of their damn business theirs fathers marriage, the father was never declared incompetent until after his death.
Later on woman has a child and then conveniently dies. Can not that child inherent the money from her estate and any and all moneys owed to their mother.? ---Not to mention the child's only sibling also dies a questionable death.
A will you say would have made things most clear, but for anyone who ever read Agatha Christie, the new wills tend to go missing at times.
So who has dibs on the deceased money, the children or wife or husband.?
An aside on a related topic. I worked with a man who as a infant was in an accident with his mother and father and they died. The child went into foster care with relatives and the resulting lawsuit landed him a trust fund for $300,000.00 to be turned over to him at age 18.
The relatives received State aid for caring for him, and money was with drawn from his trust for a new home to care for him in, a new car every few years to drive him about. Very little money was spent for him from his trust for clothing, schooling or even a pair of eye glasses, the kid was half blind for half their life. the kid was tolerated but just that.
At 18 he moved out or was asked to leave, to find his trust fund had less then $80,000 left and the State took that for repayment for the State aid his care givers had gotten.
All this stuff we never think about relating to what could happen to our family in the case of say you win a big Lottery. Or even if poor, what happens to the posesions of a person that dies, do the kids have the right to take their parents personal posesions such as family heirlooms of that parent or does the step father have the right to give away these things to another woman.?
Big questions that if we die we will never know about.
