All kinds of arguments were made about the jail time thing. Most of them were just plain stupid.

At some point in the game, the sham that Veal played ever since he pleaded guilty back in July for owing $60K to the kids of ONE of the 14 women he'd knocked up, has to run its course.
You don't play by the rules? Or pay money you owe? You lose your freedom. Simple as that.
Oh, by the way - Veal was collecting unemployment. I guess that means once in the slammer, the unemployment benefits stop, right?
