Freebie and the Access Codes
« on: September 12, 2010, 04:36:37 PM »
Well now, why can't I just walk into a movie theater, sit down an watch the movie?  I mean why should I have to pay an access fee?

Some old favorites muse about textbooks and such.

I have spoken to over 1000 teachers in the last two months
Both by phone and email, the company I work for provides books for schools. We have online books as well well textbooks, and many CD's for teachers to help their students.

I deal with large school districts, academy's, catholic schools, folks who just want to home school. Some states I deal with have State Adoptions (Florida and Texas for example).

One thing I have seen consistently over time is that the teachers just want to help their students but folks at the district level keep dropping the ball. The district did not buy them all they needed (Authorization codes for our sites, did not buy teacher editions, or enough student editions, etc). They might well be in class for weeks and not have the materials they need to teach.

They bought, or so they thought, online student editions for the kids. Only to find out that the district did not bother to understand licensing agreements and only bought 5 student editions and expected all of their kids to be able to access the book at home or in school - and they can't because there are hundreds of students.

The teachers call me panicked and worried. They are doing their job. They want their kids to achieve and do their best. But the folks at the district level, or Diocese level, did not pay any attention. Had a license last year for one of our sites that you found helpful to some kids? Sorry, but the district did not bother to purchase it this year. All that student information that you have been saving and using for years now is sitting out there - their test scores and progress sitting in limbo because admins were trying to save a few bucks this year.

All the while an ever increasing amount of taxpayer hard earned tax dollars are being diverted from hiring more teachers, maintaining schools, and buying books to union controlled teacher pensions and cadillac benefits.

Does anyone know the DUmor's name?  It would be interesting, indeed, if some authorities were to find out about educational fraud . . .

Real teachers - not the NEA drones the Dhimmi-Rats like so much - could crash land on a deserted island with nothing but a piece of soggy chalk in one pocket, and a class of 28 WilsonTM volleyball-type students, and in 3 weeks have half of them ready for the SATs and AP courses.

None of the "teaching staff" on Skinner's Island of Misfit ****-ups meet that discription, in case you were wondering...

I'll tell ya what assbag! If I had any idea of who you worked for or what your name was, you'd be losin' your job tomorrow for offerin' up access codes on the internet!

I can only hope you have the collective intelligence of your Butt Buddies at the DUmp and are emailing from your work computer!

Wonder what your employer would think of you sharin' their copyrighted material on a site like the DUmp!

I guess it's okay to steal as long as it's for the children. If it's one of your movie star idols, we should throw everyone in jail and fine them 100 times what the crap was worth in the first place, right?

Authorization codes for our sites, did not buy teacher editions

I need to confess something.  Once, when I was in 2nd grade, I was dared by another student to steal the teacher's edition of our book.  I did so, and got a good look, before I was caught.  One of the worst days of my life, as I loved that teacher.

The Teachers' Edition writes out the quizzes for you, and gives the teachers all the answers.  She doesn't have to do squat.  Even as a little girl, I thought, "Wow.  Pretty cushy."  or some such.

Yep, when I was in 8th grade math, I got handed the general math book, took it home over the weekend and handed it back to "Mr. Franco", my math teacher. He handed me his edition and made me check my own work. The following day I was teachin' some of the slower kids.

A coupla weeks later, I was one of only two eighth graders in Algebra! Seems I started to "forget" to come to class and he decided I was ready for somethin' a little more challenging!

The thing I remember most about "Mr. Franco", was the size of his paddle!!!!!!!!!! It even had one inch holes drilled in it in order to cut down the "wind" resistance! lol!

Well at least he'll be able to pay for his ex wife's doctor appointment now so she can find out what's wrong with her so they'll have a real disease to traumatize their daughter with. Her current squeeze has it made, none of the maintenance costs, all of the sex and the shafted husband still plays best friend.
