When I had my first I went back to work three weeks after I had him. It was unpaid and we couldn't afford for me to take any more time. Also when I had my 2nd I had her at 7:58 at night and left the hospital at 9:00 am the next day. I didn't have maternity insurance (I had insurance that didn't have a maternity rider) so I left at 9:00 am so I wouldn't be charged for another day.
