... and I'm exhausted!
My DIL's planned (for this coming Monday) C-section took a slight detour Saturday morning about 4AM. Her water broke and by 8:55, Evie arrived at 7 lbs 12 oz. and 19.5 inches long! She's a cutie with a great set of lungs!
But I'm getting ahead of myself here ...
Knowing that my son and DIL were/are both exhausted (son works 55-60 hr work weeks) I volunteered to take my 4 yr old grandson for a few days prior to baby sister's birth. Quality bonding time with the "Mini Me" version of my son!
I picked him up yesterday (Friday) and we had a fun day of playing out in the yard with my beagle, Dixie. Today (Saturday) we were invited to a cookout at a local park. It was a fantastic spring day with temps in the lower 70's. Titus even managed to get up close and personal with a duck. We marveled at his bright orange beak and webbed feet against the whiteness of his feathers. Orange webbed feet are funny, I don't care how old ya are!
Knowing that there would only be 3 kids there, he and I went by WallyWorld to pick up some pint sized entertainment. An over sized plastic bat and ball set, bubble making wands, sidewalk chalk, knock off versions of Frisbee's and squirt guns ... great fun at low low (made in China!) prices!
We stayed at the park from around noon till 5:30 when I decided it was time to go and meet my granddaughter. Ten toes and ten little fingers, I couldn't help but think of what a miracle each and every baby is. How blessed we are that this was a healthy pregnancy resulting in a healthy baby.
Well, the toys are all picked up. The little man has been in bed for a while now and I just put out the Easter basket. I haven't played Easter Bunny in quite a few years now. I can't wait to see his face in the morning!
OK, it's 2AM here on the east coast so I better get to bed. I'll be worn slam out before he goes home on Tuesday or Wednesday! Our activity for today: the N.C. Transportation Museum! All aboard!
http://www.nctrans.org/ He loves trains and I love history! Ah, yes indeed! Quality time!
PS ... I'll post some pics in the next few days of little Miss Evie.
