Is it Craigslist I hate?

Or is it just people?

I have 4 Lexus wheels listed. Had a lot of people email, three offers, not one show up.  :censored:

One gentleman asks if he can buy 1 wheel. I have a set of 4 and don't need or desire to keep three.

I say Sorry, but I want to sell as a set and explained my reasoning.

He gets PO'd.

Two weeks later he emails me again saying "Sell me 1 wheel!!!!!!"

I say "fine... I'll sell you one wheel for (full price) and you can have the other three for free."

He gets pissed again and tells me no one would buy a set of used wheels, blah blah blah and that he found one.

Here's a hint, people... if you don't want what I'm selling... don't bother emailing me. Pretty simple, really.

We have had the same thing with my son's bed (the bed frame not the mattress).  We had FOUR people say they wanted it on the phone and that they were either going to come that day or the next day.  None showed up.  Someone emailed me about it after the four no shows and asked if we would take less and gave me some song and dance about how they only had X amount to spend.  I said no and explained how we had had four no shows and that it was worth more than what we were selling it for in the first place.  They didn't respond.   :p

Yeah I'm done with Craigslist. I seemed to strike gold the first few times I used it. I never had any problems - people actually showed up, paid cash, didn't haggle a lot, etc...but in the past few years? Flakes!!!!

I think it's just people.   :thatsright:

Craigslist was the bomb for ages, but it certainly has fallen back in quality over the past few years as more and more people use it.

My success rate at buying stuff from Craigslist is 67%. I've gotten a couple of good deals and one bad one (three total). I've never tried to sell anything via Craigslist, though.

Meh. I got a fair deal when I bought my Land Cruiser off of Craigslist. Then I totally ass-raped some dude on his ICON Crest motorcycle jacket. Those things retail at $600......and if ICON catches vendors selling below retail, they yank their products. So it would've been $648 with tax. I gave the dude $200. Still on the factory hanger with the factory plastic wrap on it. Didn't appear to have ever been worn.

It was probably still $200 in pure profit for him, since he most likely stole it in the first place...

Craigslist and eBay have almost put old-time fences on the Endangered Species List.

I went with a vision impared friend & his wife to look at a van last Sunday that was on Craig's list in Las Vegas.

They bought it. It was a nice van & a great deal. It will get a lot better MPG then their huge 4 door Ford Dually Truck. He's having more and more doctor appointments in Las Vegas and they are spending a ton of money on gas. I was glad to help.
