DU Mods, lock happy. Do they wait for a comlaint? Or just lock if they don't like?

I've had several threads recently locked. Yesterday one thread was locked by a moderator because "nothing good can came of this." While I appreciate that DU cares enough to provide moderators, is it maybe too much to ask that they not lock threads before there are actual complaints about the thread?

3. probably a good reason - might try lurking for awhile to find out why your threads are not welcomed

5. rule violations get locked without requiring complaints

but I do believe that every "post lock" comment posted by a mod should detail the particular rule violation involved.

Oh, and IBTL.

3 minutes -- not bad.  Easy to keep track when you don't have a job, I suppose.

What does IBTL mean?

"In Before The Lock."

The primitives tend to be avid readers of P-J Comix's most-excellent DUmmie FUnnies.

"IBTL" is a take-off of "IBTP" on freerepublic.

The primitives can't create something new, lacking the cerebral capacity to be imaginative, and so the primitives ape us.
