There are reports of blockades all over DC

We are sitting in a park at 15th & K. We hear of massive blockades and we can see cops everywhere. Anything on MSM?

In the subway on the way here some woman was complaining about the protesters all over DC today. She said it was a great inconvenience. Too bad she didn't realize the real inconvenience is down the street in the White House.

Oh my.  No school in Kansas today?

2. Wonder how the Iraqi man/woman on the street would define 'inconvenience'?

I'm so sorry that trying to save the country from the grips of NeoFascism is such an inconvenience to her.

WASHINGTON — Police arrested more than 30 people who crossed a barricade and blocked entrances at the Internal Revenue Service building Wednesday morning, the start of a day of protests nationwide that mark five years since the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

A marching band led protesters down the street near the National Mall and around the IRS building before about 100 gathered at the main entrance. As police began the arrests, some protesters shouted "This is a Crime Scene" and "You're Arresting the Wrong People."

LOL! It's raining sideways here with gusty winds and flood watches. Hehehehehehe!

Oh and it's spring break week so she's probably not truant. But probably wouldn't mind if the rest of DU assumed she was that dedicated to the cause.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Being a native Washingtonian, let me tell the DUmmies something about DC: WE HATE PROTESTS OF ANY KIND. It's nonpartisan.

The local yokels from Squirrel Fart, OK come into town with their huge honking signs and their banners and their bullhorns and huge backpacks and fill up an already overcrowded Metro. They don't obey basic Metro etiquette (stand right, walk left on escalators), and then they get to their protest rally and clog up EVERY MAJOR ARTERY IN A CITY THAT ALREADY HAS A TRAFFIC PROBLEM. They gather in places where Washingtonians frequent (Lafayette Park is a nice lunch spot on nice days) and make a HUGE ****ING MESS of it. Then they clog up the Metro on their way back to their hotel-and ALWAYS during rush hour, when the Metro is already crowded.

I'll damn well agree that protests are inconvenient. That woman probably had problems getting to work today, getting her lunch, running errands. Then again, none of you DUmbasses would care...none of you know what a job is.
