The Associated Press has obtained records that show that Chase Home Finance LLC sued Faisal Shahzad in September to foreclose on the home.

On Tuesday morning, authorities were at the two-story grayish-brown Colonial, which looked as if it had been unoccupied for a while, with grass growing in the driveway and bags of garbage lying about.

The foreclosure records show Shahzad took out the mortgage on the property in 2004, and he co-owned the home with a woman named Huma Mian.

The foreclosure case is pending in Milford Superior Court.

All trails will now lead not to radical Islam but to Bush and the Banks.

Sounds like a guy whom started investing his monies not into property, businesses, other legal investments, but instead into demolitions and munitions for some sort of vague ideology of religious universal-supremacy...

If homeowner's don't have money to pay their mortgage, I doubt they have money to construct a car bomb.

I could argue that with you. Stolen propane tanks, gas is relatively cheap. Same with fertilizer. However, I see this merely as an excuse, not the cause. I know some homeowners that have had their homes foreclosed on and they didn't go out and try to kill anybody.

Seriously, I was making remote detonated incendiary devices and  small explosives when I was under 15.

You are looking at this from a "he wanted to follow the law until they foreclosed on his home." The home was merely a staging point for his jihad crafts. He never intended to pay off the mortgage and collect his Social Security checks in the home after he retired from "the mill". He used the system of property law protection for squatters to take advantage of those months while he got his jihad material squared away until last week.
