Ah the German people are an amazing bunch.

My favorite stunt however was when the Germans disguised their air craft to look like those of the Japanese and fooled us into thinking that it was the Japanese that bombed Pearl Harbor.

Chris, this is a well known fact that has been hidden from our education.

First time I heard about this, I was at UNH when a Doctor came to lecture and it was he that opened our eyes to the truth.  Doctor Timothy Leary a well respected Professor, welcomed and paid big bucks to speak at any college he wished was a bit unusual I admit, before his speech he passed out these cubes of sugar for us to sample.

For some reason all I remember is this part of his speech, I was more interested in the spiders climbing in the hair of this one girl I disliked.

Genau so.

The title of the show where this clip appeared, which was stated early on in the broadcast, was something like "Heute in Wien" (Today in Vienna), and they mentioned it being in Austria in the discussion as well.  I expect the building is a known landmark there, but I'm not real familiar with Austria in general or Vienna in particular, almost all of my time in Germany was spent somewhat to the north of the Austrian border.

Damned clever of them to snatch that Japanese sailor and stuff him in a mini-sub just so we could capture him alive when it beached.  Not to mention getting the Kriegmarine's one not-quite-finished aircraft carrier all the way to the Pacific and back undetected, somehow launching a 200+ plane strike force off it when it could only carry about 40 planes total, to boot.

Them Germans is sure some wily sonsabitches, though.
