03-11 Thursday
« on: March 11, 2010, 06:06:38 AM »
The expanded weather forecast shows nothing but rain, rain, rain, in the Sandhills of Nebraska, at least through next Tuesday.

The rain falls mainly on the plain.

Incredibly, there are few fears of flooding, despite that there still remains massive mountains of snow from December 23, December 30, and a couple more big ones during January.  Nebraska's the most rivered state of the lower 48, but all is holding up at a steady pace, the snow evaporating no faster than the rivers and soil can absorb it.

Supposed to hit 65 here today. :hi5:

Better enjoy it while I can, as tomorrow we drop back ot the low 50's with rain, and stay there for the next week. :hammer:

Baseball season is gearing up...my older son made the High School team  :-) and my younger son is playing on two team (regular Little League and a travel/tournament team).

Plus its crunch time at dance...adjudication this weekend, plus fundraisers this weekend and next.

Add in work for me, and a husband who's working 2nd shift, and you have the insanity that is my life right now.

Break from DBPP (Death By PowerPoint) today to cover the test work, since there are only two relay techs and we're both on the same crew (hence both in training this week--partner was here Tuesday.)

Low 50's again, but rain coming in Saturday and staying through the weekend.

Gloomy gloomy again today. Yesterday's rain never showed up, now it's scheduled to arrive at 1pm. Apparently Mother Nature has been sent an email informing her to hit the rain button at 1pm. Like she's really going to listen... :-)

Supposed to be in the mid 60's again today, and tomorrow until the storms hit...then be in the mid 50's and continue raining until Tuesday. We haven't had the heat on for since Sunday... :yahoo:

4 reports to do today, some laundry....in a CE Building class tomorrow from 9-3..

T's girlfriend is arriving sometime very early Saturday morning for the week. She's driving in from Central Nebraska with a couple of friends who are spending a few hours to sleep and then heading on down to Florida. 15-16 hours from NE then another 8 to Panama City...oh to be young again and think nothing of driving forever to spend Spring Break in Florida.  :uhsure:

It was 38 degrees when I woke up this morning, but expected to be in the mid 60's this afternoon.  No wonder people are getting sick with the  constant temperature fluctuations.   ::)

Today is Thursday, which is almost Friday  :cheersmate:I don't expect anything exciting to happen today.  Work all day, a workout planned for tonight, and whatever needs to be done in between.

Still waiting for the storms to show up. Long range forecast is calling for temperatures in the low 30's again next week.  :censored:

It is doing really well.  I can walk now and use an elliptical machine.  No impact activities, so no running or Karate, but it is doing well.  The scar is bigger than I'd like, but smaller than expected, and doesn't look too bad  :cheersmate:

That's great....and you are already on an elliptical!

Try cocoa butter on the scar. Will keep it soft and cut down on the itching.  :-)

Found another muskrat in the pond after I got home from work last night.

Grabbed the shotgun and blasted away -- but the little bastard was luckier than he deserved to be.   :banghead:

He wound up scooting out of the pond and down the drainage ditch to wherever the hell he came from.

Lexie, our mongrel mutt watchpuppy, was definitely interested in tracking him down and playing with him. Glad I chased the muskrat out before it came to that -- Lexie's a tough pup, but I wouldn't want to see her hurt.

  More on Warm house, cool outside, warm car, cool outside, warm building. Then in the afternoon, the office gets too warm, etc., etc. Add in some good viruses, and people start getting sick.  Plus, none of the windows in my office open, so we are stuck enclosed with the germs.

If "temperature changes" were the case, most of SF would be dead within a week of weather here.

I've heard it explained several times that more people get sick in the spring because more people are out and about spreading germs instead of staying home.
