Hello

I hesitated a lot whether to open this can, but I can't stay silent anymore, so...

................

I'm quite old. I remember, vaguely, where my parents been on November 22, 1963. I've seen so many presidents. Some were feared, some were hated, some were adored, some popular and some not. But all of them, without exception, were treated with the highest respect deserve to the office of the president of the United States.

That is until a black man won the right to occupy this office. It's been 13 months now, and in the eyes of so many, Barack Obama is still that one. He is being disrespected and at the same time being held to the highest standard of any president I've ever seen – and not just by the Republican side. He has to perform three times better than any president in history, and even that may not be enough.

For the media, he is many more times just "Obama" than "President Obama". They create scandals out of nothing issues. It took them at least 6 years to start giving Bush a small part of the shit he deserved. It took them 6 months to begin crap all over Obama because he's yet to fix the catastrophe that was left for him.

They use condescending tone when they talk about him, and only mildly less condescending when they talk TO him. With anyone else, CNN wouldn't dare go to commercials every time the president speaks, like they did during that summit on Thursday. They wouldn't dare counting how many minutes George Bush or Bill Clinton were talking. Chris Mathews wouldn't dare making an issue out of Ronald Regan calling members of congress by their first name, like he is not actually the freaking president. They fully cooperate with the Right-Wing smear machine when it comes to president Obama's national security performance – even if almost every independent and military expert actually thinks that he's a terrific Commander in Chief. You'll never see them on TV, and virtually no one from the Left, in congress and outside, defend the president on this matter.

Ohh good lord libs are so dense. From the second W was sworn in the press was on his ass 24/7. Every time he mis pronounced or jumbled a single word they hammered him merciless. Obama and the libs need to grow up and learn to deal with getting criticized.  Not once did W cry that people were being mean to him.

3. My mother mentioned how much US news media referred to him as just Obama, and not President Obama

and she doesn't even live in the US..so yes, a lot of this is being noticed world-wide..

Hey moron I can remember in the 80's President Reagan being called by his last name only by the press. Same with Bush the first, Clinton, and W. I am too young to remember much of Carter but I would wager he was called Carter by the media too.

12. If it were just that, I don't think anyone would object.

But there is more going on. From being shouted at by a member of Congress during a major speech ("You lie!"), to the minute counting by McConnell etc. etc. It's subtle, grotesque and pretty obvious as soon as they start in with "arrogance".

K and R for the OP.

You goons wanted the dems to do just that when Bush spoke. So shut your pie holes.

The race card aint working people see Lord 0 for exactly who and what he is. He is being judged by the content of his character.

I was in the 2nd grade. I vaguely remember that the teacher came in the classroom and told us the president had been shot and killed by an assassin.

The problem was, we didn't know what the word "assassin" meant.

We did know, however, that there was a masked wrestling tag-team called The Assassins, considered the "bad guys," that frequently appeared on Championship Wrestling from Florida, hosted by Gordon Solie. We knew that because we never missed the show on Saturday afternoon.

Consequently, for a while there we thought Kennedy had been killed by a professional wrestler.

I was in the sixth grade when the Challenger explosion happened.  We saw it live on TV.

Seriously, the "racist" thing is getting so old.  I bet the left thought they hit the jack pot when Obama was elected, they had it planned before he was even sworn in to call anyone who disagreed with him a racist....long before they even knew what the other side were going to say.

I was in second grade as well, Sister Rosalia came into the classroom and said that "Some thing bad has
happened.", and promptly escorted the entire second grade (along with the rest of the school) into the church for a Rosary. Being a nimrod second grader, I thought,"Cool, we got out out of our Friday spelling test!" Alas, we had the test Monday.

Mom was a registered nurse at the hospital, Dad was working.

I do remember watching the Casket being returned to Andrews AFB on the old black and white TV with
Cronkite on. I remember Dad was ticked that the NFL canceled football that weekend.

I tell you, it was seared, seared into my memory

and I definitely am not old. :-)

And they're moaning about Chris Matthews, of all people-he of the infamous "tingle up my leg"?  Sheesh, I guess it's "disrespect" if people do anything less than grovel on their knees before Hussein's divine presence. Hussein respects himself enough to make up for the whole rest of the universe-Greek columns at his nomination, as if he had descended from Olympus to dazzle us mere mortals-his constant reminders that "I won" and "I'm the President"---sounds like someone with an inferiority complex who needs constant reinforcement.

It really is tragic that our first black president was an empty resume, communist community agitator, there won't be another for a very long time.  If only Thomas Sowell had been the first.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Dr. Walter Williams would have made a far superior alternate as well.

Maybe he remembers where his parents were because he was a 36 year old adult living in their basement and they were upstairs telling him to turn down the damn cartoons.

Has nothing to do with being black. It's arrogance while being an absolute idiot. Stupidest president in my lifetime. No wonder he won't release his transcripts.

I must be the "youngin" here.  I was about a month away from my 5th birthday, and I remember my mom and dad crying over what had happened.  Mom was 3 months pregnant with my youngest brother, my other brother was barely 2.  I remember watching the funeral on TV, hearing about Oswald being shot and killed by Jack Ruby....
