If this is a true story.....he's a good kid who did a great thing for someone.

Must be a conservative.....he didn't tell anyone what he did.

debk, your post reminded me of an article I read about Medieval architecture of cathedrals.  Do you know there are countless masterpieces, such as carvings, that were designed to be hidden wholly from view?  They were intended for the glory of God only.

I did know that.

A lot of them have now found their way to The Vatican Museum.

I went to The Vatican in 2002, I was on a tour. Another woman and I ditched the tour group and were in there for almost 6 hours!! It was indescribably incredible and we still only saw a fraction of The Vatican as much is off-limits to the public.

The only way I can compare the experience is .....you know how when you walk into church (regardless of your religion) that you are walking into God's House?

When you walk into a state capital building...you are walking into your Government's House....but when you walk into the Capital Building or the White House...it's the heart of the country and it's government and you can just feel it.

The Vatican's like that.....it's God's main house.

When I went into the Basilica.....it was such an overwhelming feeling of God being there and welcoming me in.

To me, the most memorable thing about St. Peter's is all the incredible pieces of art and statuary hidden away in little dark alcoves all over the place.

Did you see all the animal statuary in the museum?

It's like the animals were encased in molding material then molds were made of them.....the muscle definition was just incredible.

Ok I have a "I have never been prouder of my 16 year old daughter than I am today" post.  I just picked up my daughter from school and she immediately said, "ARRRGHHH, I am so mad".  I asked her why and she said that a boy was wearing a Che t-shirt at school today (sort of a friend).  She told me she got so mad that she told him off and asked him if he knew anything about Che at all.  The kid could only say he lead a revolution.  My daughter told him to look up how many people he has killed and that he was basically the Cuban version of the Taliban (she watch Beck's documentary).  She also said something about him killing a 12 year old boy (I believe she said he shot him).  He claimed the boy was stealing more than his daily rations of food and he just shot him.  I hadn't heard about that one.

She said that the boy said, "I didn't know...I didn't know".  She told him that the next time he decides to glorify someone with a t-shirt he needs to look into them a little more.

I noticed this thread was back up top again.  My daughter went to watch a "debate" after school yesterday.  She has a friend named "Nora" who wants her to join debate next year (my daughter has informed me that Nora is a Lib).  My daughter heard Nora talking before the debate to another debater (my daughter was standing right next to Nora), "My Dad hates rich people".  Nora told my daughter the other day that she (my daughter) was rich.  WTF is Nora doing?  She invited my daughter to watch the debate and makes that comment about her dad hating rich people when she said that my daughter was rich (which we aren't).  Girls are bitches I swear.
