Weekend Wonderland
« on: February 20, 2010, 01:44:58 PM »
It's 55° and sunny outside.  Yes!  Feels like spring. :hi5:

I have the day off tomorrow.  Three hours left in the salt mines today.  Not much else planned for today... maybe rent some DVDs on the way home from work or stop by the library.

It was 34 when I went to work and there was about 3 inches of fresh snow. It's 46 and most of it is gone now. :)

Isn't it glorious!!?!!?

I was at a house yesterday for a loooong time due to some inspections ....and the daffodils were just starting to come up.  :yahoo:

I haven't looked to see if mine are.

I always figure that once that daffodils are in full bloom we will have one more nasty bout of winter and then be done with it!

Come on daffodils!!!
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Today hasn't been half bad. It's 62 & cloudy, however, the storms rapidly approach. I'm sure that OH and Tots will catch some of this.

Reached 39 today, and supposed to be 40 briefly tomorrow before the next system moves through.

Had ANOTHER freaking headache today...it's getting old.

Got the boys signed up for baseball today...now, if the snow would just melt so they could play!

Free!  I'm free!!  Finally got home.  I shoulda just told that guy to RTFM and get back to me if he had any more problems. :lmao:

I got all the windows open and a fresh case of beer in the cooler (the one from Valentine's Day mysteriously disappeared.  I'll have to find the culprit).  Strange... I came home and my apartment smelled like weed.  Eh.  Probably just the guy upstairs.

It was a beautiful day here today! I hate to see it ending.
It got up to about 67, is still 63 right now as the sun is setting.
Partly cloudy and a light breeze all day. Definitely spring in the air.

No idea...I'll probably make an appointment in the next week or so if it continues.  It's been about 3 weeks, give or take a few days of almost daily headaches...some are worse than others.

Thought it went away, as I've been ok the past couple days, then, wham, it was back with a vengence today.

I have hydrocephalus... I've had it since birth.  It's an endocrine disorder caused by stress, like working double shifts for nearly a year with no sleep (put me in the hospital for a week in 2003) or being born seven weeks premature like I was.  One of the major symptoms are massive, migraine-like headaches.  What's actually happening is the spine produces too much fluid which fills the open spaces (ventricles) in the brain causing swelling and pushing the brain against the skull.  If you've had a bad cavity or root canal, you know what a raw nerve touching bone feels like.

If your regular doctor can't find out what's happening, I would highly recommend seeing a neurologist or neurosurgeon, or at least getting a CAT scan.  Adult-onset hydrocephalus is not rare and it happens from time to time.  A man in my neighborhood developed it after an injury during a car accident.

Or it could just be migraines.

I rented 'Carriers' (some post-apocalyptic survivor movie) and 'Battle for Terra' (some science fiction thing).  Neither look promising, but I'll give them a shot.

Just tried to run a load of dishes.  Dishwasher heater is shot.  Can't even do a cycle without the drying.

I'm trying to figure out which one of my neighbors was smoking grass the other night.

I must admit, it smelt really good.  :evillaugh:

Yeah, that was my first thought.  "Hmmm, something smells odd and it isn't that cantaloupe I left out on the counter yesterday.  Hey, that smells kind of nice... what is that?"

So how were the movies? Give us a review.

I've discovered hulu.com - free movies and tv shows. There's a whole bunch of older movies on there that I never got to see. So I've taken to getting in bed with my lap top at night and watching a free online movie. Also a lot of good old tv series are on there with full seasons, like the original Dick Van Dyke Show, Barney Miller, etc. So I've gone back to Season 1 Show 1 on some of those and am watching them one by one. Better than most crap on current tv.

'Carriers' was awful.  Don't waste your time.  'Battle for Terra' looks more like a kids movie (which I was afraid of).  Everything is computer-generated, all the characters have these big puppy eyes.  I only watched the first 20 minutes before switching over to 'Carriers' and didn't get around to watching the rest of it.

Movie night was a bust.

Didn't get much where I was, or if I did, I slept right through it.  Areas to the west got some hail.  Now, I am just waiting to see what happens Tues and Thurs, and hoping it goes to the south of us.
