The Council on American-Islamic Relations has filed a posthumous lawsuit against Andrew Joseph Stack, the man who flew his plane into an Austin, Texas IRS building on Thursday. The copyright infringement suit maintains that Stack “knowingly utilized a copyright protected technique for his own personal gain.â€â€œTo me this is an open and shut case,†said CAIR attorney Murray Goldstein. “Don’t think so? Let’s try a little free association here. If I were to say, ‘Fly a plane on a suicide mission into a building’, what is the first group that comes to mind? No, it’s not the Shriners. Nope, not the Menonites either. And it’s also not someone named ‘Andrew.’ Case closed.â€CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper had more to add.“Once again a Westerner has seen fit to coopt an idea from his Muslim betters,†said Hooper. “What bothers me most is the utter lack of originality that Mr. Stack displayed. He could have crashed a hydrofoil into that building. Or he could have packed himself with explosives, tucked a platypus under each arm, rented a crane, and bungee jumped through the roof as horrified onlookers screamed and debated the correct way of verbalizing the plural form of ‘platypus’. Lame. The most tragic part of this whole story is had he only taken the time to convert to Islam beforehand, we’d have a glorious martyr on our hands instrad of a copyright infringing jack-hole.â€
