Firefox has a nice YT DL'er add-on. It works a helluva lot better than any other DLer I've tried. Allows you to save as flv mp4 or something else my cell phone sees.

That's what I use.  There is also another program called youtube downloader that lets you convert those files to other formats including just taking the mp3 layer from the video.
