A move to strike ‘all men’ from N.H. constitution
Some say it’s time to make document gender-neutral
By Sarah Schweitzer, Globe Staff  |  February 6, 2010

CONCORD, N.H. - New Hampshire penned the nation’s first constitution in 1776, binding until the end of the Revolutionary War. With the war won, the state in 1783 ratified a new one that opens with the words, “All men are born equally free and independent.’’

Now, some say another rewriting is in order.

The word men might once have referred to those with rights and power, but no longer, and the constitution should be amended to reflect as much, says a group of New Hampshire legislators seeking to excise the word men and similar references and replace them with gender-neutral ones. In a state that now has the nation’s first majority female legislative body, backers say that changing the language is imperative.

“It’s a very simple thing in my mind,’’ said state Senator Kathy Sgambati, a Democrat and chief sponsor of the legislation, which has 18 cosponsors. “The constitution should reflect our government, and that includes women.’’

But the constitution is historic, sacred even, others say, and to insert gender-neutral language into the text would alter its natural rhythm and fundamental expression.

Oh this should be good.

Those feminists sure are insecure about their own feminity.  Real women have better things to do.

I agree.

Good grief.  It's just silly.

If that's all they have to do, send 'em home for the rest of the year!
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

So ... NH's legislature has nothing better to do than make empty symbolic changes to something that works just fine? No budget deficits to close? The schools are models for the nation and the world? NH's electric, water and phone companies pay NH residents to take their products? NH's prisons are empty and turning people away? NH's highways are pot-hole-free and litter-free?
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

No Pete, there are more thing more important then building a solid state.

Goes like this.

A friend of your 3rd. cousin needs a job, they just graduated from college with a BA in basket weaving.  They cannot find a job but they have a degree in something.

Your cousin is in a posistion to hire for the state.  and finds a way to get this well educated basket weaver into the system.   Tital is perhaps researcher, of what no one knows but there they are.

Their instructed to find at least one way to benifit the state.   They have no idea how to help the state now or in the future, so all researchers put their minds to work and decide they had best go into the past to bring it up to standards of today.

After 3 years of research they finally find a 300 year old document that they can wave over their heads and justify their salerys for the last 3 years.

The wording must be changed on this document, they :kumbaya: have found raciest, and sexist wording here. Once we get  it changed to different wording, the state will be so much better off, Men will cheer the boys will shout, the woman and girls they will all turn out.

Why is it always about excluding, excising and exorcising?

Why not simply add, "and women"?

Orwell noted that Newspeak was the only language whose vocabulary got smaller with each passing year.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

I wonder if anyone has whispered into these DUmbasses ears that All Men is a term used to separate human beings from the other species. They are giving constitutional rights to people and the last time I checked women were still people too.

Now head on down to fearful leaders home country and the beliefs of his religion don't have that feeling towards women. We always have though. We may not have wanted womens opinion on how things were run until the sufferage movement went on but women weren't possessions to be bartered, publicly beaten, hidden and mutilated for mens enslavement like the "peaceful" muzzies do to this day.

Why and for what purpose change the wording at all.  The Document stands on its own as part of history and to try to alter history is a No, No.

Millions of years ago, DUmmie wymins evolved and climbed down from the trees.... for the past 100 years they've been trying to reclimb that tree....as you can see, some have been successful.
