Jump Squats
« on: February 05, 2010, 03:30:42 PM »
Hurt

I have been exercising lately and this exercise hurts the most out of everything I have been doing.  Try doing just ten of them, your thighs will be so sore. You can do it as you see above or like in the video below.  I did a variation where you bring your arms straight up in the air.  You can also do it while holding weights.

Now throw in a push up right before the jump squat and you'll be doing one of the things we called "Burpees"......

I think I would rather be out of shape.   :p  The jump squat alone kicks my ass, that is why I save it for last.

Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

Love these.  Back when I was rowing, we would do our 90 min to 2 hr practice on the water, put the boats up and do "jumpies" in a big circle.  3 sets of 50, followed by a 3-5 min wall sit.  Wish I could do that now...

Used to do those every morning in Basic and when I was stationed at Ft Campbell. Saying they suck is being kind. Everytime I did those I swear I could feel my legs jam into my back.

We did those in bootcamp, too, even way back in 75. Burpies seem worse because the tempo is usually a bit faster than the eight count body builders. We always wound up doing the burpies at the Navy Judo camps and they were a standard at SAR school.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

I can't do those, doctor's orders. When I left the hospital, they told me, no heavy lifting or strenuous activity. I told them "not a problem".  :lmao:
