They juiced me up with radioactive stuff for one last scan tomorrow, but it appears that I'm looking at at least a triple bypass, if not a quad. Apparently what I thought was a touch of pneumonia last fall was a mild heart attack, and it kinda snowballed from there. I actually feel better now than I have in a couple of months, now that they got all the fluids out of me. (Well, after the cardiologist informed me of the blockages today, I felt like crap for several hours...) But they are going to let me go home in the next day or two to make arrangements and get prepared for surgery.

All that hard livin' and doctor avoidin' has finally caught up with me. Moving far away from family and friends, and shunning most humans has complicated it a bit too.

Oh wow Crockspot - that's a lot to take in but at least they found something and they can fix it.

Don't worry about it buddy, you're to ornery for the devil to want.

Hope you're out and about soon.

Sorry to hear about it Crock. My dad had a tripple bypass about 3 1/2 years ago after going in for a test to see if he had the same gene marker as I do (HLA B27). My doctor said I got it from either my dad or mom and that both of them should be tested.  Next thing you know he was in the hospital getting a tripple bypass.  He had no idea what was wrong with his heart.

He didn't even notice how crappy he was feeling until after he had the bypass and then realized how much better he felt. I guess in a way, me being sick saved my dad's life.   :-)

Gah, they imagined a few more tests that they can bill me for, so I'm still here another day. Hopefully go home tomorrow some time (friday). Still haven't been given a date for surgery, but is will be soon, probably next week. Thanks for all the well wishes, it does mean a lot.

They got me locked up again for a few days for cardiac evaluation. Lots of peeing in bottles and getting poked with needles. I don't really feel all that bad, but whatever. I have free wifi in the room, so at least I'm not completely incommunicado. Good thing I thought to bring my laptop.

You only think its free.

How do I manage to miss everything? I guess I don't get out of the DUmpster often enough.

Get well Crockspot!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
