Rainy Monday

LOTS of rain overnight here...still going strong so far this morning.   Temps in the mid 50's!  Too bad the temps won't be sticking around for long.

Hoping the stomach virus my daughter had over the weekend doesn't run through the whole family (especially me! lol).

Nothing too exciting on the agenda today...going out tomorrow morning for breakfast with a couple other dance moms, and then we are going to hit up some restaurants for donations for a raffle.

No rain here, but about 20 degrees colder than yesterday. 

I woke up today, and realized my Saints were NFC Champs.  Am I dreaming???

Rain here as well.  Last I heard, we'd reached 130% of the average rainfall by this time of the year.  A few more rainy weeks, and we might get out of this drought  :cheersmate:

Snow flurries predicted for tonight and tomorrow.  Since they are saying flurries, I expect we'll get at least 4-6 inches.  :whatever:

We had rain all day long yesterday and all night last night, and it is sunny and nice out today.

Some decent rain now.  The Weather Channel radar shows a break, then a line of pretty violent storms.  Lunch is not going to be good.

Apparently I didn't look at the forecast.  We got four more freaking inches of snow overnight. :banghead:

I'm ready to move back to the south.  Where should I go?

That is exactly the weather in the Champlain Valley today. Green grass from last fall is even peeking through the snow and ice.

Haven't had much rain yet--less than a half-inch, but the heavy stuff should be rolling in any second now.  Been a SOB trying to sleep this afternoon between the dog and the wind.  One bright spot is that the ice and snow is completely gone from the roof--even the north side.

However, it's supposed to get down below freezing again tonight--not looking forward to fighting the black ice after a 12-hour shift.  Hopefully most of this stuff will have time to drain off before we get into a hard freeze--weather is calling for us to be back in single-digits by the end of the week.

We are going downhill in the temps.....still gloomy and rain/drizzly but other stuff is mixing in with it and supposed to be snow by late afternoon early evening.

Yesterday it was in the 60's!!!

Hope the rest of your family doesn't get the stomach stuff Flame! It's been going around here since before Christmas. We all had it a couple of days before, and though I wasn't happy that we got it....we didn't seem to have it as bad as those who are getting it now. We have friends that it's going through their household really bad. When I talked to her yesterday, she said her daughter (18yo) had spent the last 3 days either in the bathroom or sleeping. She couldn't remember how long it had been since they had all been so sick.  :(

Turned down for another promotion at work. :(

The girl they hired as an internal technical support representative (meaning you don't have to deal with our customers, just company-related IT stuff) decided she didn't like her job, so she didn't show up the other week and never came back.  Unfortunately, I wasn't considered for that job back in December because of my attendance -- if you're not logged into your computer, you're "tardy" and I forgot to do that a few times.  Since the girl never made it past her probationary period, I assume the department manager called one of the other people he had interviewed earlier because I never saw the job opening posted publicly again.

The weather is back down to 'normal' here after a warm, sunny week.  The forecast low is 2 degrees for Sunday night.  Off tomorrow, and I have a four-day vacation planned for this weekend -- finally going to use some PTO time.

We got some of the predicted snow tonight, maybe a couple of inches, but it seemed like a blizzard with the high winds.  We went from rain to freezing rain to snow.  The roads are nasty right now.

Several years ago, we had a couple of dry summers, but that didn't stop the city from lowering the lake level each winter in  expectation of spring rains.  They even spent a nice chunk of cash studying what might be done to improve the water supply, creating another man made reservoir or digging some deep wells. The last two summers have had plenty of rain, so nothing is being done considering the once pressing matter.  :mental:

Heh, they have to call drought all the time. It changes the water allocations for the LA basin.
 You have to wonder when weathermen (Mark Finan for one) say (paraphrasing) "Unless we get 135% of normal rainfall (statewide, mind you) this drought will not end"  WTF? (gotta wonder about them calling it a "continuing drought" after a 100%+ season, see 2007)

If the LA area would desalinate the problem would be solved.
